TRANSCRIPT
HistoryInspired by European beauty practices, Mrs. Josette Ghedin aimed to bring healthy skin care methods to her adoptive land,
Canada. Hence, the fi rst school of esthetics was founded in Canada in 1961. It was a whole new experience, leading Mrs. Ghedin
to train her team and import skin care products and devices from Europe. After a year of study, the school’s fi rst graduates were
carrying a new vocation.
In 1965, driven by his wife’s enthusiasm, Mr. Alphonse Ghedin started manufacturing spa equipment and furniture in Canada.
Silhouet-Tone was born. Over the years, Silhouet-Tone carried on its pioneering path, introducing new skin care procedures in
North America and making new skin care treatments available by manufacturing microdermabrasion units and the fi rst Canadian
electrolysis device, the Thermodyne, in 1972.
Soon in the 80’s, based on his wide experience in the fi elds of edition and communication, his son, Mr. Eric Ghedin took over
the family business and turned Silhouet-Tone into a worldwide company by opening subsidiaries fi rst in the US, then in Europe.
Back then and still today, Mr. Eric Ghedin carried a vision: always bring the best in spa equipment and furniture to the industry.
Hence, he initiated thorough procedures to ensure quality and certifi cation. He also introduced S.T Medic, a medically approved
line of systems based on latest scientifi c fi ndings, specialized in promoting rejuvenation and toning. It also includes a range of
state-of-the-art devices to improve skin imperfections and hair removal. In an effort to be the reference for quality standards
and innovation, Silhouet-Tone has introduced numerous patented and certifi ed devices and furniture, redefi ning the limits of
non-invasive procedures with unprecedented comfort such as the fi rst Canadian electrolysis device or the very fi rst Canadian
treatment table. Many other patented devices and furniture have followed over the years, exceeding professionals’ needs and goals.
In 2016, a collaboration was established between Silhouet-Tone and University of Montreal leading to the publication of the
company’s fi rst white paper* in a medical journal. This was an important step in the company’s development paving the way for
the vision that Silhouet-Tone has for the next few years.
Today, a team of highly experienced professionals ensure that Silhouet-Tone keeps offering the best technologies and superior
customer service to clients all around the world.

molding installations allows us to manufacture
parts of various sizes. It also makes it possible
for us to create complex shapes such as sharp
edges, undercuts and reliefs. As a result, our
parts retain their properties and surface fi nish
options are endless.
Extraction Tables
Mindful of the health of our employees,
Silhouet-Tone has equipped its factories with

Silhouet-tone is proud to present a short list of our most sought for medical
systems in the esthetic industry :
Professional Equipment
Newstream Furniture
Our range of spa furniture aims to bring pure grace to your room with a stunning focus on convenience, to
help you add a unique touch of refi nement. With a variety of shapes, colors and material, it can be adapted
to any customers’ needs.
Meet elegance and
sophisticationcoupled with
ergonomics.
Foam
The foam we use goes up to three inches
(7.6 cm) thick. In accordance with American
standards, our environmentally-friendly foam
contains no CFCs, no insecticides and no
formaldehyde. It is also free of fi llers (typically
used to reduce costs but resulting in an
irregular and sagging appearance). In addition
to its unrivalled comfort due to its high density,
our foam is extremely resilient and recovers
its original shape after being compressed.
Welding
Using the latest generation of welding
equipment, our production team can perform
endless procedures with steel and aluminum.
Hence, we can manufacture each and every
part needed for our products, on-site.
Steel and Wood
Our steel-framed furniture is made of 12G
or 14G steel, making it rock solid, stable and
durable. Our metal components and those
of our suppliers undergo several processes
in order to meet RoHS compliance.
Our top quality, FSC-certified wood is
sourced from environmentally-conscious
and sustainable logging companies. We
use computerized cuts to reduce waste.
Furthermore, bolt entry points are reinforced
with steel plates, protecting the wood from
rubbing and instability. Under our cushions,
we use 0.75 inch (1.9 cm) of solid ash, unlike
many competitors who use nothing more than
0.25 inch (0.63 cm).
Pneumatic Armrests
Integrated pneumatic armrests that
Silhouet-Tone has developed are available
on chairs that are part of our SBF line. This
innovation enables our clients to perform
body treatments using professional,
high-tech furniture that is both convenient
and comfortable.
Seamless Fabrication
Silhouet-Tone is the only company in the
industry that provides seamless frames. In
fact, our research and development teams
have implemented procedures to manufacture
metal structures with no welding on the
hinges. This innovation allows us to offer
durable furniture of unprecedented reliability.
Sewing
We use unbreakable Kevlar thread, among
other things, to reinforce and strengthen
weak points typically located where weight
and rubbing take their toll. Our experienced
seamstresses change their needles every 2-3
days. This ensures consistent and accurate
stitching and helps prevent skipped stitches,
resulting in exceptionally durable seams.
