A Meeting of Minds: Steve Forbes talks to YAB Dato’ Sri Mohd. Najib Bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak, Prime Minister, Malaysia.During the gala dinner at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Malaysian Prime Minister, YAB Dato’ Sri Mohd. Najib Bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak, addressed global business and thought leaders in a Meeting of Minds dialogue with Steve Forbes. He described how Malaysia recovered from the 2009 global crisis on the back of a surge in foreign direct investments in 2010, the country’s strategic challenges, and efforts to further liberalize the economy. The Prime Minister also shared his views on Islam and remarked: “It is incumbent upon us, moderates of all religions, all faith, to come together, and for us to reject violence, reject extremism, reject any form of terrorism, so that we can make this world a more peaceful and better world.“

A Meeting of Minds: Steve Forbes talks to YAB Tan Sri Dato’ Haji Muhyiddin Bin Mohd Yassin, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Malaysia.In an interview with Steve Forbes, Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, YAB Tan Sri Dato’ Haji Muhyiddin Bin Mohd Yassin, talked about the government’s initiatives to establish Malaysia as a regional education hub, better support entrepreneurs in the SME sector, and further advance the leadership of women. He also highlighted Malaysia’s efforts to engage in free trade with countries in Asean, EU and the Gulf, push forward with capital market reforms, and develop new sources of alternative energy and sustainable resources.

Over the horizon: Steve Forbes talks to Her Excellency Reem Ibrahim Al Hashimy, UAE Minister of State. The 12th Forbes Global CEO Conference will take place in Dubai on October 21 – 23, 2012. Her Excellency Reem Ibrahim Al Hashimy attended the conference in Kuala Lumpur to give a preview of what delegates can expect. She talked about Dubai’s central location as a hub for business, tourism and world trade with its excellent infrastructure, airport and port facilities. She also pointed out that Dubai’s business-friendly environment, as well as its connectivity with the world, are among the key qualities that make Dubai special.
