Saint Patrick’s Day started in Ireland, but today it is a
holiday in many countries. A long time ago, there was
a man that helped the people of Ireland. His name
was Saint Patrick. Stories say that he sent all of the
snakes in Ireland away. Today Saint Patrick’s Day is a
holiday we can enjoy every year on 17th March. Green
is an important colour on Saint Patrick’s Day. People
wear green clothes and shamrocks. Some people also
dress up as Irish fairies. They
call these fairies leprechauns!
It’s a holiday when people from
around the world can feel Irish
for a day!
