“Be Wise---Exercise!” -Exercise Game Cards Circle to Circle

Players: 6 or more The group forms two circles. When the leader calls “Change,” everyone changes sides to standin a new place in the other circle. No one must touch anyone else while crossing over. For very young children, have only one circle, and have the players change places within that circle.

Sardines Number of Players: 4 & up Hide-and-seek game in reverse. All the players but one count to 100 with their eyes closed. While they do this, the single player finds a place to hide that is big enough to hold everyone in the game. At 100, everyone searches for the hidden child. When someone finds the hiding place they try to hide there too, without be-ing seen by the others. Finally everyone will be squashedinto the hiding place, just likesardines in a can.

Three DeepNumber of Players: 15 & up Make two circles, one inside the other. One player holds a ball in the center of the two circles. The center player throws the ball to someone in the inner circle then runs and stands behind someone in the outside circle, making it “three deep.” The front player in the inner circle of the three circles goes into the center. While this is happening, the player with the ball passes it to the person behind him or her, who throws it to the new center player. Keep this going as long as you like.

Lead On RelaySet up obstacles in the play area chairs, boxes etc. Play 2 by 2 Now they pretend that they are on a long journey. One of the pair is blindfolded and must be led to safety, over or under the obstacles. When the pair finally make it to safety at the end of the play area, the blinded player can see again, but the sighted player is now blinded. They now switch places and go back again, until everyone is home and both players can see.

Melt & FreezePlayers: 4 & up Start playing music to dance/run to. After a few seconds the leader calls “Freeze!” and a num-ber, such as 3, then all players must stop and touch the floor with three body parts. For exam-ple two feet and one hand. Then the leader says “Melt!” and the players dance around again. “Freeze, eight” could mean 5 fingers, 1 hand, and 2 feet, or any other combination of eight that each player chooses.

Let’s make a Love Mobile:

1) Gather some red construction paper orcardstock, plus any other colors you may like to use. Draw a big heart shape on the red paper and a few little hearts with the rest of the colors.2) Cut out all the hearts.3) Write a sweet note on each one.4) Make a mobile like the one in the picture. Be sure that you attachthe big heart to the center so that it will hang evenly.5) Tape or glue yarn to each of the small hearts to attach to the big one.7) Now your mobile is ready to hang up. You can keep it in your room by your bed to remind you to think those sweet thoughts of others. You can put it in your parent’s room if you like, or put it in your little brother’s or sister’s room to show them how much you love and appreci-ate them. You could also give it to a friend for their room.
