We serve a risen Lord and we have the opportunity and privilege to pray to

GOD THE FATHER through JESUS CHRIST THE RISEN SON. I trust

you and your family have a blessed Easter.

March and April are the times of the year when many of our winter resi-

dents head north for the summer. As always we have been blessed with our

many friends from the North. The Wesleyan Village will be much quieter

with fewer residents. When you head north be safe on the roads and we

look forward to your return in the fall or winter months. Until we meet

again may; “The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine

upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and

give you peace”. Numbers: 6:24-26.

Roberta Martin was honored at the President’s Coffee as the Volunteer for

2018. Thank you for your many years of faithful service to the village as

you served as our MAIL-LADY. Dr. Dan Chamberlain and Nancy Walls

we recognized for their outstanding service as members of the Board of

Directors. Both Dan and Nancy have been productive and engaged board

members; thank you Dan and Nancy. Mr. Rod Benson was recognized as

the newest member of the Board of Trustees. His tenure will begin in April

2018 and his term will run until 2021. Rod brings many years of experience

to the board from the business and finance worlds.

At the last President’s Coffee (March 23, 2018), I had the opportunity to share future plans and ideas for the Wesleyan Village. The following are some of the highlights: For all of our plans we must seek God’s direction. Please make these items a matter of prayer. Proposed we sell 18 Life Leases from 2018-2024; if this is accomplished by 2024 we will net $600,000. Proposed we sell one duplex per year from 2018-2023, if this is accom-plished we will net a minimum of $90,000 and increase our operational as-sessments by $111,000 at the end of the sixth year. Potential buyers have three areas to purchase homes within the Wesleyan Village, remodeled Life Leases, Duplexes in Good Shepherd Way, and pri-vate homes within the village. All of these options provide potential buyers with a great variety of choices and price ranges. Proposed to the development a portion of the Pasture Land. The exact place for this development has not been decided but we are working with professionals who assisting us. The concept is to build 40 modular homes in the Pasture Land, priced from $70,00-$125,000, the goal will be to sell eight homes per year beginning in late 2020 or early 2021. A few verses of “Ropin’ A Bear” I know a cow-ard's way out's a bad one in most any-body's book, But that's the only route left open now so that's the one I took. These thoughts and lots more like 'em kept a-runnin' through my mind As I went limpin down that cow trail tryin' to leave that wreck be-hind.

My clothes was sorta tattered and I'd lost some chunks of hide, But my body wasn't hurtin' near as much as was my pride. Then I heard a noise behind me and the sound began to swell, Back the way that I'd just come from and I wondered what was there? Then I seen my horse a-comin', steppin' lively down the slope That old bear's up in my saddle, got a loop built, swingin' my rope.

RETIRED SCHOOL PERSONNEL FELLOWSHIP elected a new slate of officers for the

18. Hats off for a job well done. Robert served as Receptionist for

several years. After leaving that position she returned to volunteer

as mail clerk in June 2013.

Maalox and nose drops and needles for knitting, Walkers and handrails and new dental fittings, Bundles of magazines tied up in string, These are a few of my favorite things.. Cadillacs and cataracts and hearing aids and glasses, Polident and Fixodent and false teeth in glasses, Pacemakers, golf carts and porches with swings, These are a few of my favorite things. When the pipes leak, When the bones creak, When the knees go bad I simply remember my favorite things, And then I don’t feel so bad. Hot tea and crumpets, and corn pads for bunions, No spicy hot food or food cooked with onions, Bathrobes and heat pads and hot meals they bring, These are a few of my favorite things. Back pains, confused brains, and no fear of sinnin’, Thin bones and fractures and hair that is thinnin’, And we won’t mention our short shrunken frames, When we remember our favorite things. When the joints ache, when the hips break, When the eyes grow dim, Then I remember the great life I’ve had, And then I don’t feel so bad.

The Board of Directors has directed a small delegation of BOD members to visit the corporate headquarters of BrightStar, located outside of Chicago, Illinois. BrightStar is a national Home Health Care organization which sells fran-chises to provide Home Health Care services If the Home Health Care services becomes a reality, we have the oppor-tunity for these services to morph into additional health care programs.

The board has not taken any action on the Jasmine Road property but I have proposed we investigate the construction and operation of a Wellness/Activities Center and an Elder Care Center. This would be three-five years in the making.

The above plans are ambitious but most of the financial numbers are conservative, some very conservative. As I noted at the Presi-dent’s Coffee the Board, Staff and the Wesleyan Village residents will need to lock arms and move forward to achieve the above goals. This a great place to live and I want other believers in Christ to join us and make Wesleyan Village a place for the next genera-tion. May God bless you and your family.

GRAND OPENING OF THE PICKLE BALL COURTS The long wait is over. On March 6, 2018 Wesleyan Village Pickle Ball Courts were declared officially open. President Maness ex-plained the rules of the game. With the assistance of several participants an exhibition game demonstrated the techniques and play of the game. In attendance at the opening were over one hundred residents of the village. Those in attendance were treated to Dilly Bars and bottled water. It has been observed that the courts are attracting many players. There have been few days in which the courts have not been in use. Equipment for the game is available in the swimming pool building, adjacent to the courts.

Eduard and Christine Klassen brought great enjoyment to those gathered for the March Potluck/Carry-in. Pictured below is Eduard

playing the Paraguayan Harp and Christine her Key board. Eduard was born in the forest of Paraguay. He testified to how Mennonite

missionaries “planted a little seed” which became responsible for him hearing the story of Jesus. This seed grew into his global min-

istry.
