We are thankful for all God’s blessings! The Church of the City Ecumenical Conference which our Center co-sponsored with CityPact had many blessings. Each session began with an hour of praise and worship that brought us deeply into the Lord’s presence. Charles Whitehead shared with us wisdom about the transformation of our minds, our families, and in working for unity among Churches. We heard about the Nehemiah Initiative where Christian Churches are working together on the West Side. People have signed up to intercede for every city block. There have been prayer services at noon Monday through Fridays at different Churches praying together for the area. There will be a Christian block party; help for the needy; and meeting with politicians, police, businesses, etc. for the good of the area. Fr. Einer Ochoa’s Church, St. Agnes, is in this area. He has been supporting the effort. You can contact him if the Lord puts it on your heart to be involved (227-8258).

The second annual “Take Jesus to the Streets” Youth Event sponsored by our Youth Office was a great blessing, even with the rainy conditions. The youth sang and praised the Lord following the Blessed Sacra- ment carried by 7 priests from the Center to San Fernando Cathedral. The Church was filled as Bishop Tom Flanagan celebrated Mass with the youth.

I want to encourage prayer groups to bring in outside speakers every so often. It is good to have at least 3 or 4 outside speakers every year. Also, pray about ways we can work with your prayer group to have an im- pact on your parish in a greater way. Fr. Bob is glad to talk with you about the speakers and approaches that might be best for your prayer group and parish. The Center supports a number of speakers and minis- tries:

1) Dr. Bob Rice: Teaching, Bible Study, Healing Services (210-375-6822). 2) Mercy Reigns Ministry (Deacon Roy Munoz and Team): Teaching/Preaching and Healing Service

(210-673-1028). 3) Rudy Zamora and Team: Life in the Spirit Seminars and Growth Teachings (210-535-4332). 4) Jesus and Evelyn Ramos: Spanish Ministry: Music, preaching and teaching (210-437-3345). 5) Eleanor Huron and Team: Life in the Spirit and Growth in the Spirit in English and Spanish (210-

416-9961). 6) Heavenly Sounds (Frank Garcia and Team): Bilingual music and praise (210-494-3562). 7) Rudy and Delfie Garcia: Youth and Young Adult Ministry (210-226-7070). 8) Brothers of the Beloved Disciple (Fr. George Montague, Fr. Joseph Mary Marshall, Fr. Will Combs, Fr.

Bob Hogan): Teaching, Parish Missions, Healing Services, Retreats (for scheduling any of them call Fr. Bob at 210-226-7545).

9) Fr. Bob Hogan and Ros Hernandez: Development of prayer groups; working with pastors and par- ishes; understanding the Charismatic Renewal (210-226-7545).

Put on your calendar our annual Washing of the Hands Mass and Christmas Social on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at 10:00 am at St. Henry’s Church

(next to the Center).

Bendiciones! Rosbel (Ros) Hernández Director

Catholic Center for Charismatic Renewal Chapel

UNANSWERED PRAYER... MOST COMMON REASONS WHY

"You do not have what you want because you do not ask God for it. And when you ask you do not receive it because your motives are bad. You ask for things to use for your own pleasures.” (James 4:2,3)

PRESENTED BY: Pedro & Nelda Palacios (English) Josie Gonzales & Irene Garza (Spanish)

ATTENTION: EVERYBODY IS WELCOME, ALL HEAL ING MINISTERS wishing to join the CCCR HEALING TEAMS should attend this workshop. Those persons wanting to be Healing Team Members must attend at least 6 Healing Ministry Workshops during the year. Prayer Groups may send their Healing Teams for training.

FROM THE SERVICE COMMITTEE: The forces of darkness can destroy our family before they are even noticed. Demonic entities are forces of evil that seek to penetrate our lives and relationships with their manipulative and destructive ways. In place of the November Evening of Renewal & Revival the Zone 2 Prayer Communities are sponsoring a weekend workshop entitled, "Spiritual Warfare! What's That?" (Exposing The Reality of Evil), at St. Mark's Catholic Church, 1602 Thousand Oaks Dr. San Antonio, TX 78232-2398. The weekend will begin with a Charismatic Healing Mass on Friday, November 6th, at 7:00 pm, in the St. Mark's Main Sanctuary. The celebrant and special guest speaker will be Fr. John H. Hampsch, C.M.F from Los Angeles California. He is a best-selling author and world-wide lecturer; has written numerous books; more than 100 booklets; many podcasts and news articles on a wide verity of Catholic Topics. Fr. Hampsch specializes in Generational Healing. Bring the whole family!

This workshop can teach us about the ways in which these demonic entities can affect us, and describes how we can elicit God's power to deal with them effectively. On Saturday, November 7th, at 9:00 am, Fr. John H. Hampsch, C.M.F will lead an All Day Workshop and will end with a Mass at 5:00 pm. The doors will open at 8:15 am in St. Mark's Nights of Columbus Christopher Hall. Seating is limited to 250, so plan to get there early. The cost is FREE, but there will be a Love Offering taken to help defray the expenses. Note: Please bring your lunch or there are also restaurants in the area.

We want to thank the Zone 3 Prayer Communities for hosting the October Evening of Renewal & Revival event. Our special thanks to Roger & Elida Robles of the "Community of My Beloved" Prayer Community at St. Mary's University. The special guest speaker, Gail Dereszewski asked us to walk the walk of Holiness as she expounded on Embracing the Call to Holi- ness. Thank You Gail!

The Holiday Season is fast approaching and we pray that you'll have a very Happy Thanksgiving. Please mark your calen- dar for the Annual Christmas Washing of the Hands Ceremony and Fellowship on Saturday, December 5th at 10:00 am. More information will be in the December Charisletter.

My Brothers & Sisters, please remember to keep up with your ministry of generosity and support to the CCCR with your gifts and prayers.

May God Bless You, Jerry Syring Chairman

Prayer Groups

We thank you for your loyal support to this great movement of the Holy Spirit and Charismatic Re newal in the Church. All we do is for the glory of God and we know that our success is due to the sup port of the prayer groups, communities and the Church itself.

Occasionally we hear of groups that meet but are not registered with the CCCR or new leaders of groups and we are not notified. Please let us know when there are changes in leadership, meeting days or time is changed, etc. We must stay connected.

Bishop Tom Flanagan is Liaison for Charismatic Re newal in the Archdiocese and Fr. Bob Hogan is As sociate Liaison. If something comes up that you need help, please call us. When there are problems or situations where help is needed, please call us. We also ask that groups have communication with the pastors and perhaps give them a monthly "what's happening" report. We are one body and together we are renewing the grace of Pentecost in the life and mission of the Church.

We also want to caution you to be careful who you invite to teach, preach or evangelize in the archdio cese. Normally we require documents to prove that the individual(s) has a background check, formation and experience in the ministry. If ordained, that he has faculties for mass if a mass is to be celebrated.

Pope John Paul II said in June 2001 to the Catholic Fraternity of Charismatic Covenant Communities and Fellowships:

"I pray most fervently that your communities and the entire Charismatic Renewal will 'put out into the deep' of prayer in order to 'put out into the deep' of mission. Then you will help the whole Church still more to lives of action and contemplation which is the womb of evangelization."

Blessings, we are one in the Spirit, we are one in the Lord.

Rosbel (Ros) Hernandez, Director

Michael and Erica Rodriguez are the hosts of Fanning The Flame, and are asking you to tune into CTSA (Channel 15) every 3rd Monday of the month from 8 pm to 9 pm. You can contact Michael and Erica at:

Children‛s lessons from Church: All the way home from church, Jun- ior, in the back seat of the car, was very, very quiet. His father asked him three times what was

wrong. Finally, the boy replied, “That preacher said he wanted us brought up in a Christian home, and I want to stay with you guys.”

A little boy was attending his first wedding. After the service, his cousin asked him, “How many women can a man marry?” “Sixteen,” the

boy responded. His cousin was amazed that he came up with an answer so quickly. “How do you know that?” “Easy,” the little boy said. “All you have to do is add it up, like the Bishop said; 4 better, 4 worse, 4 richer, 4 poorer.”

A Sunday school teacher was discuss- ing the Ten Commandments with her five and six year olds. After explain- ing the commandment to “honor thy

father and thy mother,‛ she asked, “Is there a commandment that teaches us how to treat our brothers and sisters?” Without hesitation one little boy answered, “Thou shall not kill!”
