SIMPLE STEPS TO SUCCESS What Does it Take to Get Started?
• Staff person or agency • A plan or strategy • Who will have Admin rights? • Define your metrics for success • Budget
Types of Pages
• Personal Page • Fan Page* • Group Page*
(*Fan Pages or Group Pages are specifically for organizations) Creating The Page
• Choose which page is right for you • Have a clear purpose for your page • Create internal policy and procedures for maintaining page • Create an easily recognizable icon for your page • Upload all information you want fans/group members to have:
• Organization information • Photos • Videos • Events • Favorite Pages
You have the Page created… now what?
• Invite people to join • Keep the Page Updated • Delegate someone to be responsible for monitoring/following up/engaging in
conversation • Make sure negative comments are dealt with – What’s your policy? • Update daily (2-4 times is recommended) • Engage Your Fans • Postings should drive conversation – Ask a Question • Post the link to your FB page in eNews, email signatures, websites, and all social
networks your organization uses • Make it a challenge – Ask fans/group members to gather more fans • Host contests – (i.e. Who has the best photo of XXX?)
Stepping Out:
• Using a mobile device • Developing/Integrating existing • FB Apps • Integrating FB into overall marketing efforts • Monitoring FB impact on your organization website traffic
