THE STEPS

• 1st A bill can be written by a person or group along with a member of Congress

• 2nd A bill must be introduced by a member of congress.

WHATS NEXT?• 3rd - The Bill is then sent to the appropriate

committee for discussion.

4th step: The committee holds public hearings and people are allowed to state their oopinions.

in committee it moves on to the full house vote.

AFTER A BILL PASSES ONE HOUSE IT GOES TO THE NEXT

The process begins all over again in the new house.1st - Introduction

2nd - Sent to Committee

3rd - Public Hearings

4th - Committee Debate and Vote

5th - Full Senate vote

At this meeting a compromise bill is arranged and sent back to both houses for final approval.

If the Bill differs the two Houses hold a Congressional Conference Meeting
