In the summer 2016 issue of Good Times, I wroteabout “The Duro Dyne Community” and reflectedupon how all of our employees based at corpo-rate headquarters, regardless of position in thecompany, shared some fun and relaxing timestogether. We held a July 4th barbeque, as well asparticipated in the annual Marcum WorkplaceChallenge at Jones Beach, an event to raise moneyfor many worthy causes, but also, an opportunityto socialize in a relaxed atmosphere.
Duro Dyne is very fortunate to have so manyemployees, as well as customers, who getinvolved in volunteering and fundraising formany important causes. As you all know, insteadof giving out holiday gifts each year, Duro Dynecontributes toward many worthy charities. Thisyear, we’ve decided to make an even biggerimpact with our charitable giving.
For over 60 years, Duro Dyne has hosted a cock-tail party at the annual HARDI Conference. Thisyear, we decided to forego the party and dosomething a little bit unconventional. Instead,Duro Dyne is going to hold our largest fundraiserever, to benefit the Breast Cancer ResearchFoundation (BCRF). The fundraiser will begin atHARDI in December, and culminate in January atthe AHR Expo in Las Vegas. We will be auctioningoff machinery, collecting money and raisingawareness of this charity, and the importantwork it does.
Unfortunately, each of us has been impacted bysome type of cancer, whether ourselves; ourspouse or significant other; our child; our parent;our sibling; our relative; our friend. Watchingsomeone close to you suffer, and be subjected todifficult treatments to fight cancer, or for thatmatter, any disease, is heartbreaking. Often, themost we can do is offer love, solace and support, while feeling impotent. That is especially whymany of us contribute to charities and institu-tions that feverishly work to find a cure.
At the AHR Expo, in addition to auctioning machinery and raising funds for BCRF, we plan to recognize all of our loved oneswho have been afflicted with breast cancer. Please forward us the name(s) of your loved oneswho have been diagnosed with breast cancer, and we will have their names inscribed in ourbooth to recognize their struggle. Please emailthe correct spelling of their full name to: [email protected]
Thank you in advance for your support of thisworthy cause.
Join us in looking forward to the day when noone will ever hear the dreaded words, “You havecancer.”
Wishing you all a wonderful holiday seasonwith your loved ones. Wehope you have a lot forwhich to be thankful; atDuro Dyne, we give thanksfor our loyal customers, andour dedicated employees.
Bid on DD Machinery and help a good cause at the same time!
