This summer Duro Dyne’s New York manage- ment team hosted a Fourth of July celebratory barbeque for all of our employees. It was an opportunity for everyone to mingle together regardless of what area of the company they worked. Whether the employee worked as a shipping clerk; machine operator; maintenance mechanic; porter; salesperson; customer service representative; or even me, the CEO; we all enjoyed the luncheon equally. As the definition above states,“a feeling of fellowship” goes deeper than what each individual does for a living. A great time was had by all - and the weather coop- erated, as well. Later in July, employees of Duro Dyne, in Bay Shore, participated in the Marcum Workplace Challenge, a summer highlight for many in the Long Island business community. The event features a 3.5 mile walk/run at beautiful Jones Beach State Park, to raise money for several Long Island charities. Participants then enjoyed dinner in a festival atmosphere. The run/walk, which is held annually, was super- vised by The Greater Long Island Running Club. Long Island businesses, not-for-profits and government agencies are encouraged to invite employees, and their family and friends to get involved. In 2015, there were 9,369 participants comprised of 215 company teams and a total of over 12,000 people attended the event! This year’s beneficiaries were all very important Long Island charities: The Long Island Children’s Museum (LICM); Long Island Cares, Inc.—The Harry Chapin Food Bank; The Nassau County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals; and, Children’s Medical Fund of New York. After a hiatus of several years, Duro Dyne rein- troduced participation in this charitable and fun, community event. This year we had over 50 par- ticipants representing Duro Dyne, including 32 employees, with the remainder being family and friends. Everyone had an enjoyable evening at this incredible locale. Duro Dyne has always prided itself on a strong sense of community within the company, and within the HVAC industry, and it was great taking part in this local community event. Thank you to our employees, and our customers, for creating the wonderful community known as Duro Dyne.

Milton Hinden, founder of Duro Dyne, found aspecialized nitch in the HVAC industry andstarted the Duro Dyne Corporation by sellingproducts out of the truck of his car in 1952.In a short period of time, after much hardwork he established several patents and astrong foundation for the Duro Dyne name inthe product categories of Flexible DuctConnector, Multi-Blade Hardware, Self DrillingScrews, Duct Sealers, Insulation Adhesives andInsulation Fasteners in the USA.

In 1958, with the help of a partner, Milt decidedto start Duro Dyne Canada to capture the mar-ket to our north. The Duro Dyne CanadaOperation was originally set up in Montreal, and in 1995 moved to a 15,000 sq.ft. facility inFrançois Cusson. From 1985 -1996, DD Canadawas run by Bud Kirmayer. Roger Rondeau tookover as President from 1996 -2010. Over thelast several years, Duro Dyne has continued toexpand - actually doubling the size it originallywas in Francois Cusson.

In October 2015, DD Canada moved into a brandnew location on 46th Avenue in LachineQuebec. The construction and the movetook just over three months to completeand went very smoothly, without losing asingle day of production! The new facilityis state-of-the-art with roughly 30,000sq.ft, where all flexible connector needsfor Canada, as well as a large portion ofour hardware, is produced.

The DD Canada team is currently run byPresident Franz Korzer, who took over

upon Roger’s retire-ment last October. Franz and his team of 15 dedicated employeesrun a highly efficientCanadian operation to successfully serve ournorthern neighbors.
