TRANSCRIPT
As winter snows cover the town streets, cyclists of all ages, backgrounds and interests gathered to discuss new ideas, events, activities that can assist new cyclists, seasoned cyclists and first learning cyclists on how to get around easier with their bicycles! Plans were discussed, new laws understood, strategies deter-mined and dates decided for the best way to launch cycling season in Chapel Hill, Carrboro, the University and Orange County for 2018. On several pages of this newsletter is information regarding the planning of events that took place along with great events to attend. And of course, there is not enough room to show everything– for all events in the area please go to the www.gochapelhill.org website. A complete list of events, dates, places, times and sponsors will be listed. We also encourage everyone to make sure you are familiar with NC Bicycle Laws, some of the most critical laws follow:

You Are Invited to the
Fix-It Station Launch
On May 18th, the Chapel Hill
Downtown Partnership and the
Town of Chapel Hill invite you to
the official launch of Chapel Hill’s
first public fix-it station. Check out
this newest fix-it station in Chapel
Hill on Franklin Street as the com-
munity launches the station with
various leaders using it to do quick
fixes on their own bicycles.
All Ages Cycle Chapel Hill - Helmet Safety is Important!
The Town of Chapel Hill hopes everyone
is able to put their bike on a bus but just in case,
an actual bike rack, from the front of a bus, has
been mounted on Franklin Street for practice. The
re is a sign which includes directions. Citizens are
encouraged to go and test out their skills placing
their bicycles on and off the practice rack.
Across from the rack, is a newly mounted
bicycle fix-it station. The station is fitted with all
the necessary wrenching tools to make sure a bike
is ready to roll. Be sure to note that bikes can be
lifted and placed on the station for ease in using
the various bicycle wrenching tools as well as us-
ing the air pump for tires.
Both the bike rack and the fix-it station are
located next to the bus stop on the south side of
Franklin Street near the Carolina Coffee Shop.
Take time, as Cycling Season begins, to figure out
how to use these great tools and cycle your spring
and summer to work as well as for errands and
play! Go Chapel Hill!
It is as easy as 1,2,3! But do you know how?
