Ground Control Point Library (GCPL)

• Geometric calibration of satellite / platform

• Triangulation1 of Satellite/Aerial Data for the generation of DEM2 and Ortho3 data.

• The need for GCPs were discussed during early Nineties.

• Has become a part of IRS programme for IRS-P5(stereo).

• First of its kind in India to collect GCPs from GPS survey all over India.

• Location analysis with varying occupation

• Observation of 30 min in static position on a point provided 50cm(1σ)

• 3 tier client server database

1 – Triangulation is the process of determining the location of a point by measuring angles to it from known points at either end of a fixed baseline, which will help to densify the control points.

2 – Digital Elevation Model : Grid with Geographic location and height information3 – Ortho Data corrected for terrain and tilt angle.

Standard Positioning Service (SPS) for

common users Restricted Service (RS) for special authorized

The IRNSS service is transmitted on L5 (1164MHz) and S(2483MHz) bands
