With over 700 participants having already taken the North West Kent College and Lloyd’s Maritime Academy’s Diploma in Ship Superintendency by distance learning, it continues to be as sought after and well received today as it was when created in 2003.

The evolving nature of the marine industry and the growing procedures involved has meant that ships and their associated support structures have become increasingly more complicated. The need for technical expertise as well as managerial competence has greatly added to the demands on those in the role of superintendent.

This unique course will provide you with a detailed guide into the role of the modern ship superintendent and its place within the maritime industry alongside essential technical knowledge.

It is intended as a qualification for marine professionals worldwide – those who may be operating at sea and wish to progress to a shore based position, those currently serving as ship superintendents or those who have an interest in gaining a qualification that will assist with their own personal and professional development.

The maritime world is truly international and in order to give marine professionals every opportunity to study, the chosen method of delivery is distance learning. This eliminates geographical boundaries and barriers and matches the busy working life of our students.

This course is recognised by the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST) and the Royal Institution of Naval Architects (RINA) as contributing to the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) needs of their members, giving the course professional recognition by key industry associations.

We are confident you will find that this unique Diploma provides you with a level of knowledge and skill that will greatly benefit you and your employer or prospective employer.
