Last Cruise Ship Sails into the SunsetExcerpts from Joel Eisenbaum, Channel 2
After two years at the Pasadena’s Bayport Cruise Terminal, Princess Cruise Line and NCL say good bye.
On the week of April 15, 2016, the last ship pulled out of the terminal for an international cruise to Belize, Spain.
The facility sat unused for its intended purpose for about 6 years before NCL and Princess Cruises signed on in 2012. The facility has never been profitable since construc-tion in 2008.
In addition to the $108.4 million it took to build the terminal, it has lost at least $12 million in operating costs since 2013.
The Port of Houston Authorities will not confirm specific plans for the facility at this time, but they plan to explore business opportunities that will hopefully bring economic growth to the area and turn the failing facility into a profit finally.
It was reported that the US Coast Guard is having their Change Of Command Ceremony at the Terminal in June.
Alligator Spotted at Sea Breeze ParkA six-foot alligator was spotted sunning itself on the rocks at Sea
Breeze Park on Thursday, March 31. Texas Parks and Wildlife was contacted and a trapping permit was
obtained by La Porte Animal Control. An authorized trapper was brought in to catch the alligator; however, it
swam back into the bay before it could be captured. The trapper, City Animal Control Officers, and Parks employees will be
keeping an eye out in case the alligator returns.

Noah, shown above with his medals has won the 5th grade Fast Math Challenge 3 times.
Celeste, who is all about art, had her drawing picked and printed on Lomax’s Beach Day shirt.
