Worship Notes Next Sunday we look at Luke 2:1-20 as we continue our Crazy Love series. An obsessed person will go to any length to get what they want. We don't normally think about God as obsessed but He is. God went to a mind-boggling length for us. In Luke 2 we read that God become human. There is no way that we can understand what a stretch that was. And He even became one of us just to die. What great love that shows, a love that is willing to go to any length for the beloved. Verse of the week: But the Angel said to him: “Do not be afraid, Zechariah; your prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you are to give him the name John” Luke 1:13 This week be in prayer for: - Those who are missing family members - Expectant hearts for Christ's return - Brookfield CRC Give thanks to God for:

Proclaiming Evidence for Truth

THIS WEEK'S CREATION MOMENT

Jet-Propelled Squid The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas. O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! – Psalm 8:8-9 You've heard of flying squirrels and flying fish, but did you know there's also a squid that can fly? Even more surprising is that it accomplishes this amazing

feat using jetpropulsion! Yes, though they were once only rumors, we now know that a certain kind of squid can emerge from the water and streak through the air at speeds up to 25 miles per hour. A team of Japanese marine biologists have actually photographed Japanese flying squid doing just that in groups. Jun Yamamoto at Japan's Hokkaido University describes how they take flight. The squid normally swims backwards through the water using its fins. But after taking in a large quantity of water, the squid forcefully ejects the water through a nozzle near its head and becomes airborne. "Once they finish shooting out the water," he said, "they glide by spreading out their fins and arms. The fins and the web between the arms create aerodynamic lift and keep the squid stable on its flight arc. As they land back in the water," he said, "the fins are all folded back into place to minimize the impact." Of course, it didn't take long for evolutionists to claim that these squid evolved all the parts necessary to fly so that they could escape from sea-going predators. But as it turns out, Japanese flying squid face even more formidable predators in flight – like the albatross. So once again we see that the evolutionary explanation just doesn't fly. Facts Shari’a law govern 12 states in

Nigeria. Shari’a law is the most strict, oppressive, and dangerous of governments.

The life expectancy for people living in Nigeria is only 47 years old. The average life expectancy for the worlds is 66 years old.

Nigeria is the 9th most populated country in the world with over 13 million inhabitants.

There is a continuous effort to force Christian to practice Sharia law in many Nigerian states.

Nigeria

In a country where tribal living still exists,

whole Christian villages have been burned

down and destroyed by Muslim radicals. Nigerian Christians not only worry about

lack of food, education, and resources,

but they are also under significant

pressure to convert to Islam or be killed.

The Church in Nigeria desperately needs our prayers. A strong movement pushes to Islamicise the country, and Christians are consistently under attack by

fundamentalists. Churches are burned,

villages are attacked, and Christians are

brutally murdered. Attacks recently occurred at a high school in

Sumaila town in Kano State. “Some Muslims said we were blaspheming

Mohammad. When they started to attack,

most of us ran for our lives. I was hiding in

the principal’s office. I escaped out a

window, but they caught us,” said Ahmadu

Inuwa. “They used machetes, knives and stones. They cut me on my neck badly.

Even though I was bleeding, I kept running until I found refuge in a nearby village

and collapsed,” he shared. Christian children in all of the government schools in Kano State are afraid of what

might happen to them while attending school. They are unable to concentrate in

class. Many parents fear for the safety of their children at school Please visit www.OpenDoorsUSA.org to receive the Weekly Prayer Alert e-mail for the persecuted Church.
