How to Participate in El Paso Giving TIME
Claim Your Account
1. Visit elpasogiving.givepulse.com and click on Get Involved2. Toggle to Groups3. Search for your nonprofit by organization name or EIN
Helpful Reminders
● Once you claim your account, you must be approved. You will be notified by email once you have been approved.
● If you can’t locate your group, contact GivePulse at [email protected]
Create Volunteer Events
1. Access Your Group Dashboard through the Manage toolbar.
2. Click on the Events section and select Add Event.

3. Follow the page to fill in your event information.
What Makes A Successful Volunteer Event for El Paso Giving TIME?
Make your volunteer events specific days and times!
○ Single Day: Food Pantry received a large donation and needs volunteers to sort food from 1-5pm on Saturday.
○ Recurring: The Animal Shelter needs dog walkers every Thursday from 9-10am.
○ Shifts: PTA is throwing a holiday festival and needs help setting up (3-4pm), taking tickets (4-6pm) and cleaning up (6-7:30pm) on Tuesday.
Register Volunteers
Promote the volunteer event url link through all your usual communication channels so your friends, family, donors, and volunteers can sing in and register.

TIP: When volunteers click register, they will have the option to select an “automatic match request”. We highly encourage volunteers to do so!
This means that once their attendance the volunteer event and hours are verified, the matching request will automatically be submitted on their behalf.

● We use impacts as an umbrella term to describe all form of community engagement. In this case, volunteer hours are the impact.
● The best way to do this is through the app. Any can download it for an iPhone, iPad, or Android
● Allows for automatic verification of volunteer hours
● Register “day of walk-in” volunteers using the + sign button

Match Approval and Disbursement
1. Make sure you verify all volunteer hours and the volunteer requests a match
2. Afterward, go to the Matches section on your dashboard and select Volunteer Matches
3. Click the green Verify button to complete the matching-grant verification process (just four questions!)
Don’t worry! We will be reminding volunteer to request the match throughout the program.
Matching Grant-Verification Process
1. Your organization hereby agrees to use the Walmart match grant funds solely for activities in the United States: Yes/No
2. Your organization affirms that the volunteer was not compensated by your organization for the volunteer time being verified: Yes/No
3. Was a representative from the nonprofit organization managing/coordinating the volunteer activity? Yes/No
4. User Agreement: By answering yes, you certify that you have read the El Paso Volunteer Guidelines and FAQs and, to the best of your knowledge, the information you are submitting is accurate and complies with the policies of the El Paso Volunteer Guidelines.: Yes/No
● Walmart will review the matching request
● Funds will be disbursed by check Network For Good (grant processing partner) in or around the 15th for matches granted the month prior.
● If your nonprofit operates under the EIN of your national organization, please let GivePulse know. You will have the opportunity to make this designation.

● Claim Your Account!
● Start creating volunteer events with specific dates and times between November 15- December 31 and promote them!
● Remind volunteers to select an “automatic match request” when they register
● Use the GivePulse App to clock in/out volunteers & verify their hours in one step
● Make sure volunteer hours are verified and matches are requested by December 31st
● Complete the four question matching-grant verification process by January 10th to receive your matches
