www.FeedTheDream.org 2011 HIGHLIGHTS • Reaching out to 1400+ daily • Establishing and overseeing our program in 18 communities • Permanent program in Tzanjomel • New preschool nutritional programs FALL 2011 NEWSLETTER photo: Beth Brady “YOU ARE WAKING US UP” Feed the Dream's first village in partnership with Behrhorst Partners for Development was Cambalcol. My introduction to them was filled with feelings of anticipation and gratitude with the participating 15 women and 20 children. I always looked forward to my return to reconnect, witness their development and watch the growth of their children. I was never disappointed. On our last visit there, a woman gave me the ultimate compliment. After a shared meal she stood with her healthy children and thanked Feed the Dream for "waking up our minds." It was an extraordinary moment for all of us. 7 YEARS LATER With the completion of 7 years in the Guatemalan Highlands, Feed the Dream is experiencing even more amazing accomplishments. Our villages are abundant with proof of health, progress and optimism for their future. As we move toward sustainability, a mutual depth in personal relationships and commitments has developed. The indigenous know that they can rely on us. Having options for the first time has changed the way they think. You can see in their faces a new self-esteem and a positive approach to each day. Their stories, highlighted in this newsletter, demonstrate these new realities. This only happens because of YOU---your donations, support and belief in our program. I join them in saying... “Matiox”……“Gracias” in Kaqchikel Sandy Haggart, Founder

7TH ANNUAL GOLF & LUNCHEON EVENT On July 18 more than 200 women attended our annual fundraiser and enthusiastically made it our most successful day ever with a net of $103,000!

Our day was tucked in between weeks of stormy weather and power outages. We are thrilled and grateful for our success during these challenging economic times. Please visit www.feedthedream.org to see pictures of some of our attendees. Now we can continue reaching out to our desperate indigenous who face worse daily challenges.
