Christmas Dinner Dance
In December we held our Club Christmas Dinner Dance at the Carlton Park Hotel. As you all know tickets for this event sold out fast, leaving several disappointed members. All our club members that managed to obtain tickets for this diner dance really enjoyed the evening and they are looking forward to next year’s event. To remind you of the evening here are a few photographs from the evening taken by Mrs Sharron Abbott.

Latest Professional Qualifications We would like to congratulate both Tom Cherry and Judith Jones on taking their first steps as PADI Professionals by qualifying as PADI Divemasters. In addition Tom has also qualified as an EFR Instructor.
Dream Divers is now a PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Centre, which means that we are now able to offer the full range of PADI Professional level courses from Divemaster through to the IDC (Instructor Development Course). Any Divemasters, wanting to take the next step as a PADI Professional, we will be running Instructor Development Courses throughout the year, we will time these courses to coincide with the running of Instructor Exams either in this country or other locations worldwide, to suit your requirements and preferences.

Doing Our Bit to Help the
Environment As part of Dream Divers commitment to become more environmentally friendly, we have taken the decision that starting with this issue, of our newsletter we will not be producing any print copies. If you haven’t done so yet sign up on our website or Facebook page, to receive your own copy of the newsletter by email as soon as it is published. Additional you can find newsletter published in the dive club section of the website each month and it can also be
found on Scribd and Issuu.
New Website Design Over the next few weeks we will be working on a brand new design for our website. Please visit to check out the changes, whilst we are working on this overhaul please let us know of any ideas you may have, which might improve your and other peoples experience when visiting the site. Dive Club Meeting
Next Club Meeting is on Thursday 27th January 2011 7.30pm onwards at the Ring O Bells, Church Street, Swinton, Rotherham, S64 8EG.
As usual due to the Christmas festivities, we didn’t hold an actual club meeting in December so our next club meeting will be at the end of this month. Please make an effort to attend so we can start this year off, with a flourish!
The club trips organised for this year are filling up fast, with some of them having only places on the reserve list available. So if you are interested in joining us on one of these trips, please pay your £10 deposit before it is too late! Wherever possible to will try to organise an extra boat to accommodate all interested divers, but we need to know as soon as possible the numbers involved so we can make arrangements, unfortunately
sometimes this is not possible.
As Dive Club members, you can use the pool for only £5 per person, during our pool sessions, using your own kit, or just £15 per person including rental of full kit. So whether you just want to refresh your skills, have a piece of new kit to try out or just having that burning desire to get wet.
Call the dive centre to book your place.

Build upon your PADI Open Water Diver Skills, this course consists of five specialty dives; under the guidance of your PADI Instructor you complete the Deep and Underwater Navigation Adventure Dives. These dives boost your confidence to build on these skills. You then choose three additional dives from more than 15 Adventure Dives to complete your course. So if you haven’t already completed the course book your place and start your journey towards the PADI Master Scuba Diver rating.

If you have any other ideas for club trips for next year, please let us know at the next club meeting, so we can organise and book boats etc... This is because we need to book early to ensure that we can have access to the best boats at each destination. If you want to secure a place for next year’s trips you must bring £10 per trip to the meeting otherwise your name cannot be put down to reserve a place. Anyone who pays a deposit and revokes must pay for the trip in full if you do not find anyone to take your place as we have to book and pay for our boats in advance.

Guided Sea Dives We are now offering guided sea dives for anyone who has not been on a boat before or been in the sea for the price of £25.00 per day for a PADI professional to take you diving. On our trips we will put the names of the Divemasters and Instructors who will be willing to take you on a guided dive and you pay the £25.00 to the divemaster, instructor direct to contribute towards their trip cost. This will enable you to have peace of mind that you can conduct a buoyancy check and be shown all the fabulous critters underwater.
