FULL & HALF-DAY PRESCHOOL PROGRAMSThe Indian Boundary YMCA is building stronger futures with our Preschool Programming!

IBY preschoolers discover science, arts, healthy habits, literacy and more! We know how fast children that age develop and that they want to explore everything, and here they can! Our preschool uses the YMCA Character Development as well as The Creative Curriculum for Preschool, developed by Teaching Strategies, Inc., which is designed to provide a well-rounded early learning program for children prior to Kindergarten. Here, children receive classroom instruction in core components, like science, art, dramatic play and more as well as physical fitness activities and swimming lessons for 3, 4 and 5 year old preschoolers.

WHERE CHILDREN LEARN, GROW & THRIVEAt the Y, we regard each child as a unique individual who needs to be understood, guided, encouraged and appreciated. At this early age, play is a child’s most important form of learning and development. We provide programs and activities where children learn, explore, develop athletic skills, build a positive self-image and develop social relationships with other children.

Ensure your child is kindergarten-ready. Enroll him or her in a YMCA pre-K program today.

PRESCHOOL FUN DAYSPreschool is an exciting time as children embark on new adventures in the world of learning. At the Y, we regard each child as a unique individual who needs to be understood, guided, encouraged and appreciated. Our programs provide activities where children learn, explore, build a positive self-image and develop strong social and emotional relationships. Y programs encourage children to explore their creativity through multi-sensory experiences and create a language-rich environment to promote and foster a love of reading. Children are exposed to art, music, math and science as they develop expressive and receptive language and gross motor skills.

Preschool Fun Days Our IBY Preschool Fun Days are fun and unique celebrations where children can participate in a meaningful learning activity that turns their ordinary Sunday into an EXTRAORDINARY FUN DAY! Our fun day will include circle time, art projects, Large Motor Play on our playground or in our Preschool Gym, story time, songs, rhymes, movement and a snack!

PARENT/CHILD SWIM LESSONS(Ages 6 months to 3 years)

Our parent/child swim lessons promote water enrichment and aquatic-readiness activities for children and their parents or other trusted adults. Parents learn from the instructor’s example how to guide their children through positive reinforcement and appropriate praise.

There are four levels based on developmental abilities:

Shrimp Child can control their head and sit with support from the hands.

Kipper Child can sit without hand support and stand with support from the hands.
