STATE ASSISTANCE/YMCA SCHOLARSHIPS Child Care Assistance (CCAP) and YMCA Financial Assistance

The YMCA accepts Child Care Assistance (CCAP) funds. Child Care Assistance (CCAP) is a child care financial assistance program provided by the Illinois Department of Human Service for working families.• Don't Wait! The process for applying can

take up to 45 days for new applicants to receive approval. Families will need to provide house-hold income to qualify. We will need to have an approval letter before the first week of camp. After you are accepted in the program you are responsible for paying the parent assigned monthly co-pay each month IN ADDITION to the differential. The differential is the daily cost of our program less the daily rate paid by (CCAP). If you qualify, your assistance can be applied for all of your weeks of camp.

• If you do not qualify you will receive a denial letter. Submit the denial letter to us and then you can apply for Financial Assistance through the YMCA. YMCA assistance is available for those needing help to pay for camp. Assistance is based on annual income and family size. Funds are limited and are available on a first come first serve timeline.

• To apply for Financial Assistance, complete a Financial Assistance Application, provide a copy of your Federal 1040 and a letter explaining your financial situation and return to the YMCA.

HEALTHY KIDS PRESCHOOL CAMP Age: 3-5 This is a part-time camp. Campers may register for one session or multiple sessions. Campers will continue their preschool learning experiences through the following activities: creative art, games, songs, nature studies and more!

CAMPERS NEED TO BRING A SACK LUNCH EVERY DAY. Children must be 3 years by June 1, 2016 and toilet trained.

SCHOOL AGE CAMPS

All School age camps will take place at the Indian Boundary YMCA located at 711 59th St., Downers Grove. Your child will experience what a full service YMCA has to offer; i.e., rock climbing, swimming, gym activities, fitness/health education and an outdoor park and shelter.

Your child will have options to register for various "Specialty Camps" while they are attending the Traditional Camp. Camp staff will make sure that your child is taken to and from these specialty camps. Please note that an additional fee is required for each specialty camp. Your child will be eligible for a $10 discount for a specialty camp if they are signed up for the Traditional Camp.

Learn all about our fantastic summer camps during Camp Information and Meet the Staff night from 6:30-8pm, Friday, June 3 at A "Parent Handbook" will be provided to each camper family at this meeting.

The camp price is per week and includes all field trips, t-shirts and extended care for working parents.

Extended care hours are 6:30-9am and 4-6pm.

ACADEMIC CAMP Campers spend the mornings working on their skills in reading, math, and science, afternoons are spent in recreational and swim lessons, sports, arts and games. KAMP KINDERGARTEN This full-day Summer Camp includes extended care, 6:30am-6pm for working parents of kindergartners, at no extra cost. The campers will participate in creative art, large/small motor physical activities, swimming, music, nature studies, cooking and character education. All activities promote kindergarten readiness skills. Kamp Kindergarten will swim every Monday and Wednesday and join Traditional Camp for field trips on Fridays.

Campers need to bring a sack lunch every day. They may also bring a blanket/pillow for the daily quiet time. A healthy afternoon snack will be provided. Campers may also register for Sport and Specialty Camps at a discounted rate. Camp counselors will take the campers to and from these camps. Drop off and pick up will be at the pavilion.

TRADITIONAL CAMPS Traditional camp offers creative learning experiences for children entering first through sixth grades. Thanks to a grant from Ron McDaniel we are able to offer a Healthy Camp Curriculum. We incorporate character and nutrition education into our weekly activities which include crafts, sports, singing, group games and Friday field trips. Each session is one week and campers may sign up for one or more weeks.

Facilities: Summer Camp meets at the YMCA under our pavilion for opening ceremonies which allows us to take full advantage of our indoor fantastic facilities as well.

We meet outdoor under the pavilion weather permitting and take advantage of our indoor facilities on hotter and rainy days.

Grade: 1st-6th Session: 1-12

Is your child a sports enthusiast? If so, they will enjoy the full-day sports camps. Modeled after the national "Super Sports" program philosophy, campers play hard, play fair, and everyone is a winner! Activities include floor hockey, dodgeball, basketball, flag football, rock climbing, soccer and much more. Also, you child will have an opportunity to swim and Friday is field trip day. Bring your swimsuits because Full Day Sports Camp will swim on Monday afternoons!

Archery This camp will teach your camper proper shooting technique, safety, and equipment use.

Basketball Camp This camp will teach your athlete dribbling, passing, and shooting with a games approach teaching method.

Beginning Skateboard Camp Learn how to stay on your board, change direction, and go down ramps.

Camp Art Campers will learn to draw and also paint with various types of brushes, techniques, and materials.

Floor Hockey Camp

Campers will learn the game of hockey while working on passing, puck handling and shooting.

Football Camp Learn the fundamentals of passing, receiving and playing defense. Daily scrimmages will be played.

Mythbusters Camp Kids will explore basic science questions through experiments and fun activities.

TEEN ESCAPE SUMMER TOUR 2016 Looking for something more than just an ordinary summer? Want to hang out with friends all day and go on fun, exciting trips? Look no further! Teen Escape will take you and your friends on an interesting, new adventure every day! Teen Escape is a great way to meet new friends, build self esteem and create new opportunities for you.

Teen Escape is designed to keep teens engaged and active in a positive community-based program. Teens will be given opportunities to show their individual talents, build lifelong friendships and skills, and create new goals to achieve. Activities will be challenging and build YMCA values of Responsibility, Respect, Caring, and Honesty. Camp activities include sports, games, crafts, hiking, leadership development, rock climbing, swimming, community service, and cookouts. In addition teens take part in health and fitness activities, such as Zumba and yoga and can develop their leadership skills through team-building activities and by assisting our Kindergarten Counselors in leading activities for the younger campers.

Monday through Thursday every week is a new, exciting, challenging adventure! Fridays are spent rock climbing, swimming, playing sports and cooking out at the YMCA.

Field trips include: Whirlyball, Six Flags, Camp Duncan,professional baseball games, arcades, water parks, laser tag, Starved Rock, movies, bowling, and so much more!

There will be special opportunities for overnights and extended field trips that will require a small additional fee. Join us this summer for new and exciting adventures that are better than ever.

Program Hours: Camp is in session Monday-Friday, 9am-4pm. Extended care is available at no additional charge. Extended hours are available at 6:30-9am and from 4-6pm. Adult sign-in and sign-out is required upon drop off and pick up.

Facilities: Teens Escape will begin and end each day at the YMCA. We will be taking full advantage of our fantastic facilities as well as enjoying adventures beyond our boundaries. Our schedule includes local and offsite short trips on Monday and Fridays (weather permitting). Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays we will venture out to explore new boundaries.

Adventure Travel Camps takes kids outside the Y and into the community. Adventure Travel camps run the gauntlet from full 5 day field trip weeks that include pools, Go-Karting and Arcades to camps which include Bowling, Fishing, Paintball and so much more!

PAINTBALL CAMP AGE: 10-14 FEE: $220/$280 Days: Tu -Fr Sessions: 2 & 8

Paintball is a game where players shoot pellets of paint from airguns at opposing players in a strategic game similar to the children's classic Capture the Flag. Games are played outdoors in special paintball fields. The basic equipment for the game includes a specially designed airgun, paintballs, carbon dioxide cartridges to expel the paintball, and safety goggles.

BOWLING CAMP Age: 6-12 Time: 12-2:30pm Session: 8 Fee: $80/$120

Bowling camp will teach youngsters new to the game about proper etiquette, rules, scoring, and other techniques. We will visit local bowling alleys to get a flavor to what this sport has to offer.

FISHING CAMP Age: 6-12 Time: 9:30 -1:30 Days: M-Th Session: 4 Fee: $110/$150

Does your child love to fish or would they like to learn how? Join us we visit our local pond and learn the basics of how to fish. Each child should bring their own fishing pole, tackle, and bait. Bring your lunches!

5 DAY FIELD TRIP CAMP Age: 9-12 Time: 9am -6pm Sessions: 3,5,7,8 Fee: $220/$260

Campers prepare for field trips with fun team building activities. Then each day brings a new adventure! Destinations may include the zoo, swimming, movies, hikes and arcades. Campers enjoy fun activities upon returning to the site. Exciting back up plans are in place, in case of inclement weather. Jump on the Indian Boundary field trip train, for the ride of your life!

ANIMAL CARE CAMP Age: 6-8 Time: 9:30am -1:30pm Session: 3 Age: 8-12 Session: 9 Fee: $160 Member/$188 Non-member

This popular camp will be offered in two sessions with two separate age groups. The younger group will visit nature centers, zoos and humane societies with exposure to guest speakers in veterinarian and animal care content.

The older campers will experience field trips and tours heavily concentrated in rescue, vet career paths and opportunities that will lead them into volunteerism in the animal field. Trips to Wolf Rescue Sanctuary, Danada Equestrian are just some of the trips planned.

CHEF CAMP Age: 8-12 Time: 9:30am -1:30pm Session: 2 Fee: $100/$150

Campers learn to cook and bake all week! Field trips to visit local restaurant operations are included.

BEAUTY SCHOOL CAMP Age: 8-12 Time: TBD Session: 8 Fee: $100/$150

IBY will host a one week beauty camp for students ages 8-12 that are interested in learning personal grooming skills and techniques to help build self-esteem and confidence. The program covers hair care, skin care and the application of light makeup. The students are taught by a licensed Cosmetology Professional.

2015-2016 CHILD CARE PROGRAMMINGOPEN REGISTRATION 2015-2016 PROGRAM YEARIBY Preschool Program Our preschoolers discover science, arts, healthy habits, literacy and more! We know how fast children that age develop and that they want to explore everything, and here they can! Our preschool uses the YMCA Character Development as well as The Creative Curriculum for Preschool, developed by Teaching Strategies, Inc., which is designed to provide a well-rounded early learning program for children prior to Kindergarten. Here, children receive classroom instruction in core components, like science, art dramatic play and more as well as physical fitness activities and swimming lessons for 3 4 and 5 year old preschoolers. We also offer one and 2 day options for 2 year olds.

NEW PRESCHOOL PROGRAMMING!Indian Boundary Just 2's Preschool Programming Our Two Year Old program is focused on providing a positive initial learning experience for each child in preparation for early success and school readiness. Through games, art, songs and finger plays, children's literature and activities, our two year old children learn and grow at their own pace. Classroom activities follow our teacher developed curriculum, with an emphasis on letters, numbers, shapes, colors, and language skills.

Our Two Year Old Curriculum is rounded out by exposing our students to a wide variety of cultural and artistic experiences which include the following:

Pre-K Plus Program We are proud to announce that due to our remarkable Preschool Program growth and demand for additional early learning experiences, we are now offering Pre-K Plus Programming. Pre-K Plus Program participants will have a healthy catered lunch and the opportunity to participate in a team sports, rock climb, learn tumbling skills, and of course participate in scheduled learning activities such as Mathematics, Reading and Messy Science.

Pre-K Plus Programming begins at 11am and ends promptly at 2pm, Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Schools Day Out The Indian Boundary YMCA offers a robust program on days off school. We follow a District 58 school calendar. Your child will learn to build character while participating in swimming time, gym time, climbing wall experiences and much more! Program offerings vary depending on availability. Your child should bring a swimsuit, towel , lunch and snacks. Drop off can be as early as 7:00 am and pick up by 6:00 pm. In the event of a snow day, please check the IBY FB page to be certain we are still offering a program. Indian Boundary YMCA = FUN for your child on a day off school!

Kindergarten Enrichment The Indian Boundary YMCA offers a comprehensive program that will continue the excitement and development of your Kindergartners learning. We will pick up your child at dismissal from any of the District 58 Schools as well as Woodridge at dismissal, transport them to the YMCA, provide a hot lunch and provide a wide variety of activities. We offer this program from 11am-3pm or 11am-6pm M -F Part-time option available. You can also sign up for Before and After School Programs. Also incorporated into our lesson plans will be our newly acquired CATCH Curriculum (Coordinated Approach to Child Health) for the purpose of creating healthy children and healthy environments.

SWIMMING LESSONS ARE INCLUDED!

School Age Before and After Care The Indian Boundary YMCA offers a safe and positive environment for it's Before and After School Programs for children attending 1st through 6th Grade. Our program places an emphasis on developing well-rounded youth. We are also licensed by DCFS. Children participate in a balanced program of open -play and structured activities. We offer Before Care Programming 7-8am, and After Care Programming from 3-6pm

Children get involved in a variety of learning activities in addition to program components such as, recreation, health enhancement, arts and humanities programs, nutritional snacks, service learning, character development and homework assistance. The IBY School Age programs ensure that children are given a unique mix of activities that focus on developmental assets, the building blocks that teach children how to make positive and intelligent decisions throughout life.

2016 YMCA Summer Overnight Camp

FUN & ADVENTURE START HERELooking for an overnight, resident camp experience for your child or your family this summer? The YMCA of Metro Chicago has five resident camp options in beautiful pristine areas sure to provide special memories to last a lifetime.

YMCA Camp DuncanSince 1921, Camp Duncan has provided safe, quality camping programs for boys and girls ages 7 to 15 and Teen Adventure Camps for 15 to 17 year olds. All activities are geared to the developmental level of the campers. Camp Duncan is a co-ed, summer resident camp located near Fox Lake, Illinois, on 300 acres.

YMCA Camp MacLeanCamp MacLean is located just two miles east of Burlington, Wisconsin, just 20 minutes from Lake Geneva, on 247 acres of woods and grassland property. The camp offers fun and challenging activities such as swimming, climbing, boating, kayaking, archery, hiking, and much more. We also leave room for plenty of traditional programs, including sing-alongs, campfires and campouts.

YMCA Camp PinewoodTraditional but up-to-date, Camp Pinewood features 16 cabins on a private, spring-fed lake, with every activity from sailing to horseback riding. The camp is nestled in the heart of the Manistee National Forest near Muskegon, Michigan. It’s convenient but remote enough to ensure that everyone enjoys the natural beauty of the camp’s 200-acre facility.

YMCA Family Camp NawakwaFamily Camp Nawakwa offers a unique experience- an opportunity to bring together whole families, not just children, through camping. The camp sits on 180 acres of pristine forest lands, and includes wetlands and lakes with abundant wildlife. The camp is nestled in Lac du Flambeau, Wisconsin, which is home to the Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians.

YMCA Camp IndependenceCamp Independence is a special place for campers age seven and up with spina bifida. At camp, kids become a community as they learn both how to be more independent and how to contribute to a group. We teach self-reliance, a love for nature, and the development of attitudes and practices that build character. Our counselors are dedicated to making sure camp is an amazing experience for every camper.
