TILTED BLOCK ASSEMBLY

1. Arrange and transfer the Triangle Templates to template plastic or freezer paper. Use the Left Triangle Template to cut out H and I with the right side facing up. Use the Right Triangle Template for J and K.

2. Referring to the Quilt Image, arrange and sew the Block Centers with their corresponding Triangles. Make (1) of the following combinations, except where noted. Square to 9-1/2”.

Left Tilted Blocks: H/B, H/C, H/E, H/G, (2) H/O and I/D, I/F, I/L, I/N

Right Tilted Blocks: J/A, J/C, J/F and K/A, K/B, K/D, K/E, K/G, K/L, K/N

QUILT ASSEMBLY

3. Arrange the (20) Blocks in five horizontal rows of (4) Blocks each, taking care that the blocks alternate, tilting left and right as shown below. Sew all blocks together into rows first and then join them; press seams well. Quilt center measures 36-1/2” x 45-1/2”.

4. Inner Border: Sew (2) J 2-1/2” x 45-1/2” strips to the opposite long sides of quilt center, followed by (2) J 2-1/2” x 40-1/2” strips to the remaining opposite short sides of quilt center. Quilt now measures 40-1/2” x 49-1/2”.

5. Outer Border: (Keep the directional print the same in both the vertical and horizontal borders.) Sew (2) A 6-1/2” x 49-1/2” strips to the sides of quilt center. Sew (1) M 6-1/2” corner square to each short end of both top and bottom A 6-1/2” x 40-1/2” strips. Sew to top and bottom of quilt.

FINISHING: Layer quilt top, batting and backing together to form quilt sandwich. Baste and quilt as desired. Bind using J 2-1/4” strips.
