Constructing Pieced Blocks1. Ornament hanging unit.a. Draw a diagonal line on the wrong side of (1) 1 1/2” x 1 1/2” A square. Place square, right sides together, on (1) 2 1/2” x 2 1/2” <print 1> square. Sew on drawn line. Trim 1/4” away from sewn line. Open and press to reveal A corner triangle. Repeat with another 1 1/2” x 1 1/2” A square at the diagonal opposite side of the same 2 1/2” x 2 1/2” <print 1> square.
Add (1) 2 1/2” x 2 3/4” A rectangle to the left of sewn unit.
b. Sew together (1) 1 1/2” x 1 3/4” A rectangle, (1) 1 1/2” x 1 1/2” <print 1> square, and (1) 1 1/2” x 2 1/2” A rectangle.

c. Sew units made in steps a-b together, and add (1) 2 1/2” x 4 3/4” A rectangle, and (1) 1 1/2” x 4 3/4” A rectangle to the top and bottom of sewn unit, respectively.
Make a mirror-image unit, and sew units to the opposite long sides of (1) 1” x 6 1/2” <print 1> rectangle to complete ornament hanging unit.
2. Ornament unit.a. Sew (2) B quarter-square-triangles and (2) <print 1> quarter-square-triangles to make a QST unit.Sew (2) 2 1/2” x 4” A rectangles to the opposite sides of QST unit.
b. Draw a diagonal line on the wrong side of (1) 2 1/2” x 2 1/2” A square. Place square, right sides together, on (1) 7 1/2” x 7 1/2” <print 2> square. Sew on drawn line. Trim 1/4” away from sewn line. Open and press to reveal A corner triangle. Repeat with (3) additional 2 1/2” x 2 1/2” A square on the remaining corners of the same 7 1/2” x 7 1/2” <print 2> square to make a snow-ball unit.Add (2) 1 1/2” x 7 1/2” A rectangles to the left and right of snowball unitc. Sew units made in steps A and B to complete ornament unit.

3. Sew ornament hanging and ornament units together to complete (1) block.
4. Make a total of blocks in the following <print1> / <print2> combinations:
5 blocks: G/D 4 blocks: K/F, H/E 3 blocks: G/J, J/K, H/C
Quilt Center Assembly
1. Pieced columns. Column 1, 3, 5 -- Arrange and sew (4) blocks into a column. Add (2) 8” x 9 1/2” A rectangles to the opposite short ends to complete a pieced column. Column 2, 4 -- Arrange and sew (5) blocks into a column.
2. Sew pieced columns and (4) 2 1/2” x 75 1/2” A sashing strips to complete quilt center as shown on page 5.
Quilt Top Assembly
1. Outer border. Sew (2) 3” x 75 1/2” A strips to the opposite long sides of quilt center, followed by (2) 3” x 58 1/2” A strips to the remaining opposite short sides to complete quilt top.

Quilting Instructions
With the backing fabric laying taut, place batting and then quilt top to form quilt sandwich. Baste sandwich. Quilt as desired. Bind to finish quilt.
