Backing
Refer to the quilt photo when cutting the directional fabrics. Numbers in ( ) represent the placement in the quilt top. Make sure to mark each piece with the fabric letter and position number to easier assembly.
Fabric A: Leaves – Citron • Cut one 23” x WOF strip. Sub-cut one 20 ⅝” x 14 ½” rectangle (3) and one 17 ¾” x 23” rectangle (10).• Cut one 13 ⅛” x WOF strip. Sub-cut one 8 ¾” x 13 ⅛” rectangle (23 ).
Fabric B: Cat Heads – Mandarine • Cut one 15 ¼” x WOF strip. Sub-cut into one 8 ⅝” x 15 ¼” rectangle (2), one 8 ⅝” x 15 ⅛” rectangle (8) and one 7 ⅝” x 14 ¼” rectangle (20).• Cut one 22 ½” x WOF strip. Sub-cut one 20 ⅝” x 22 ½” rectangle (15) and one 8 ⅞” square (35).
This pattern is advanced level. You will need experience working with triangles, bias edges, accurate cutting and accurate seam allowance. Due to the nature of this design, there is very little room for error to make the triangles match up.

Fabric C: Leaves – Grey Rock • Cut one 23 ⅞” x WOF strip. Sub-cut one 4 ⅜” x 23 ⅞” rectangle (9), one 20 ¾” x 12 ⅞” rectangle (26) and one 4 ⅝” x 10 ½” rectangle (42).
Fabric D: Small Tulips – Manderine • Cut one 23” x WOF strip. Sub-cut one 17 ¾” x 23” rectangle (11) and 17 ⅞” x 14 ¾” rectangle (4) • Cut one 5 ¾” x 8” rectangle (30).
Fabric E: Scallops – Grey Rock • Cut one 14 ¾” x WOF strip. Sub-cut one 28 ⅛” x 14 ¾” rectangle (5).• Cut one 23” x WOF strip. Sub-cut one 22 ⅜” x 23” rectangle (13) and one 18” x 13 ¾” rectangle (18).
Fabric F: Large Tulip – Manderine • Cut one 23” x WOF strip. Sub-cut one 22 ⅜” x 23” rectangle (12).• Cut one 12 ⅞” x WOF strip. Sub-cut one 11 ¼” x 12 ⅞” rectangle (27), one 14 ⅝” x12” rectangle (33) and one 10 ⅜” x 12 ½” (38).
Fabric G: Grid – Citron • Cut one 11 ½” x WOF strip. Sub-cut one 11 ½” x 23 ¼” rectangle (14).• Cut one 13 ½” x WOF strip. Sub-cut one 13 ½” x 17 ⅝” rectangle (19) and one 20 ¾” x 12 ⅞” rectangle (25).• Cut nine 2 ½” x WOF strips for the binding.
Fabric H: Small Tulips – Citron • Cut one 18” x WOF strip. Sub-cut one 14 ⅜” x 18” rectangle (40) and one 14 ½” x 11 ⅞” rectangle (32).
Fabric I: Optic White • Cut one 54” x LOF strip. Sub-cut one 53 ⅞” x 14 ½” rectangle (6), one 13 ½” x 22 ½” rectangle (16), one 10 ⅝” x 22 ½” rectangle (7) and one 4” x 14 ½” rectangle (1).• Cut one 43 ⅞” x LOF strip. Sub-cut one 43 ⅞” x 13 ½” rectangle (17), one 22 ½” x 12 ½” rectangle (24), one 21 ¾” x 12 ½” rectangle (22), one 16 ⅝” x 13 ½” rectangle (21) and one 16 ⅝” x 12 ½” rectangle (28).• Cut two 11 ½” x WOF strips. Sew the nine 2 ½” x WOF Fabric G strips together, end to end with 45-degree seams, to make the binding. Fold this long strip in half, lengthwise with wrong sides together, and press.
