It feels like I was just saying “welcome summer” and now the kiddos are heading back to school. It feels like the time goes by too fast. I hope everyone enjoyed the summer and backyard barbecues with your family, friends and neighbors. We had a great July meeting and Reading Rally at Girls, Inc. We heard screams of excitement so we believe the Bingo for Books was a win! We must thank all of you who volunteered to help us with the event. We also thank Gretchen Radler and the committee for putting together this year’s program. Next up is our annual Executive Night fundraiser at the Fred and Pamela Buffett Cancer Center on August 28th. It is wonderful to see all our member firms who are sponsors for this important evening. The money raised at this event benefits our ASIST scholarships. I know that each of us takes great pride in this event to make it a success. We greatly appreciate all the hard work by the Committee. And LCAM is right around the corner. There is still time for anyone who wants to join us in Milwaukee in September. Visit Omaha wants to share this fun event with you - Omaha Restaurant Week - September 13-22, 2019 Get ready to celebrate Omaha's unique culinary scene with Omaha Restaurant Week, the 10 tastiest days of the year! Enjoy discounted three-course meals at some of Omaha's best restaurants. There are no tickets, passes or coupons required - simply dine out and savor! The best part is you're supporting a great cause. A portion of Omaha Restaurant Week proceeds will go to the Food Bank for the Heartland. Go to Click here to see what restaurants are participating. If you are interested in sponsorship opportunities with this event, contact Cindy Brickey at [email protected].

Interested in getting more involved with EWI?

Raffle Donations Needed! We need raffle items for our upcoming chapter meetings to raise money for our chapter! If you or your company would like to donate, please contact Melissa Travis - email: [email protected] or at (319) 330-5419.

We are in need of mentors. Currently we have four members that we want to be able to welcome into EWI, give them their EWI pin and let them know they have a mentor. A mentor is an important role as you transition into EWI. Being new to an already established network, sometimes you could feel like an outsider. We want our members to feel the warm welcome of EWI. Below are the rewarding responsibilities of being a mentor.

o Be that familiar face and person to greet your mentee when she arrives at the Chapter meeting.

o Introduce our new member to others in the Chapter so she can start forming relationships.

o Sit with the mentee during the Chapter Meeting. o Be a resource for all the many questions we have as a new member (the

Board is working on a FAQ sheet). o Meet for coffee or lunch or have a call to touch base, answer questions, and

provide guidance and support. Again, these items all make sure our new members are part of our Chapter from the start. If you are able to help by being a mentor, please email [email protected].

We would love to feature your executive’s bio and photo in the coming months. Please let email Jordan Stocking know if you are interested at [email protected].

The Omaha Chapter has purchased 120 sport drawstring bags for the LCAM Reading Rally. If you would like to do donate to the cause, we are still raising $60.00 to cover all of the costs. Please let

Jonna Radtke know if you are interested in helping out.
