Showing horror

Empire used the typical colour scheme and template for the issue despite the horror element. The antagonist features as the main image, the bold main cover line gains attention. There is a white lights behind the character of Bane which contrasts bluntly with the armour and disguise thus highlighting the villain and importance of knowing his identity. It is uncommon for the antagonist to be portrayed on the cover therefore Empire has stated that the issue is for collectors as there is are different covers featuring different characters from the film. The Batman film symbol has been used by the masthead to make sure readers instantly identify what film is being advertised because a new character is used to advertise.
