Hello Emerson Families~
Happy Valentine’s Day! We have had yet another short but exciting and learning-filled
week at Emerson Elementary! We have a fabulous staff that is doing all the right things to
ensure that our students are receiving the very best education! If you haven’t had a chance to
talk to your child’s teacher lately, you’re in luck! Parent-Teacher Conferences will be taking
place on Thursday, February 26th. We will be using the same schedule that was used in the
Fall. Please contact your child’s teacher if you need to make an adjustment to your time.
Please be advised that the conference times are scheduled every 10 minutes with most teach-
ers having a completely full schedule. If you arrive late, you may have to forfeit your time as
to keep the remainder of conferences on schedule.
Did you know that Emerson is on Twitter and on Facebook!!! If you would like to get up-to-
the-minute updates about Emerson Elementary, please go to Twitter and search for @_sedlar
to join and start receiving tweets from me! This is one more way for you to stay connected to
the happenings at Emerson! If you are a Facebook user, please visit and “like” the Emerson
Elementary PTO page that also provides pictures and important information in regards to our
awesome school!
Your help is needed. If you use Dewey Street (the east side of Emerson) to drop your
child off in the morning, please note that the busses (all 13 of them) also use that space to
drop off the bus students. Please use that area as a true drop-off only. If you need to walk
your child to the gym, please park on the other side of the street or behind the bright green
cones and escort them across to the street using the Crossing Guard. Thank you for helping
to make the morning transition safe for our bus students as well.
Winter is still with us! Please help your child to remember their snow clothes for re-
cess. It also is a good idea to pack an extra sweatshirt for your child to wear in their class-
room for the really cold days. Thank you for your support!
Please be reminded that there is No School for students on Friday, February 13 and Mon-
day, February 16 due to the President’s Day recess. School will resume on Tuesday, Febru-
ary 17, 2015.
I hope that you all have a fantastic four-day weekend! As always…Go STATE and GO
TROJANS!!!
Take Care~
