The Democrat Party

What they used to be:

What they recently changed to:

Obama

One might argue, however, that associating an entire political party to a logo of an individual could backre

if the individual fails to deliver.

For a great video on the power of political imagery with specic focus on the Obama logo, watch this informative video:

The Republican/GOP Logo

Our old image

A New look for a new era of Republicans

• Outdated• Proddish and stationary• Static and stationary• Reflective of an old GOP Party

• New and Fresh• Active and forward moving• Thinner and Healthier• A modern image to reflect and appear to a younger demographic while maintaining aspects that appeal to longer term members• A richer and deeper color palette

A new image for a new era

Why Update the Current GOP Symbol: 1. Because the 2010 election season is developing into the year of the GOP with young, exciting candidates energizing voters as they promote core Republican conservative principles, our party should take advantage of this ascendency and give our tired, plodding elephant a makeover (as evidenced by the Democrats newly-designed donkey).2. Our current elephant logo has come to be associated with the party of old fogies. 3. By adopting a vibrant, new symbol, the GOP can reinforce nationally that we are a STRONG, forward-moving party, ready and able to rebuild a STRONG America. 4. The old elephant, with its plodding gait and stout, unimaginative form, is not reflective our new dynamism – it especially doesn’t appeal to younger voters – a voter block we must actively secure. Young voters are accustomed to think in terms of short “sound bites.” Flashy graphics have instant appeal - they gravitate quickly to what looks good ("eye candy") vs taking the time to investigate substance.

Advantages of the Improved Elephant Symbol• Powerful and eye-catching – stylish, forward-moving lines with upward reaching trunk has a cutting-edge appeal• Still easily-recognizable as the GOP symbol• Implement nationwide publicity to launch the new GOP (will garner free publicity) – use it in conjunction to the GOP’s new best-for-America initiatives • Strong symbol for “Young Gun” program adoption• Stars are pointing up as on our flag (old elephant stars point down)• Design allows flexible text placement (Republican, GOP, state name) • Stylized design works well for small stationary use or large banners• More youthful design - slim and healthy form to reflect today• Initial reaction by viewers is very strong and exciting with instant appeal • A thinner and healthier elephant

The symbolism of

The “Ellie” logo is born of some deep conservative values

The blue top is owing, like the rivers of our nation... the legs are stripes representing the mountains from shore to shore.

Combined with the stars, the whole image is also reective of the stars and stripes of our ag. The stars orientation is up as is represented on the US Flag

The elephant image as a hole is signicantly “thinned” down representing a more active and healthier Republican Party.

The logo is also forward leaning indicating movement and action to move our country ahead to even greater prosperity in the future.

Ellie’ trunk is up for good look, and trumpeting.

One other little subtle thing that I did intentionally, though as I said, very subtly is the legs. One is slightly shorter than the other. There are two... Representing the Twin Towers.
