Eider’s definition of “Progressive Outerwear “is clothing made for performance with style and for style with performance.

Since 1962 in its home in the heart of the French Alps, Eider has been working to bring together a passion for Mountain sports, great textile knowledge and a continuous search for innovation in a unique and contemporary style.
Following the values of our founder, a Tailor, every one of our garments takes shape from an idea, is designed then patterned and refined in our workshop in Annecy.
Our choice to take complete control over the whole chain of research and development, along with constant feedback and consultation with our athletes, technical advisors, customers and producers, means that we are pushing new boundaries every year.
Our mission: to offer technical solutions to athletes’ most demanding needs. Eider’s high performance, functional, versatile and stylish clothing is dedicated to anyone in Mountain sports and for those who love The Outdoors. Fundamentally, Eider is for everyone inspired by nature and the mountains.
Au cœur des Alpes françaises, depuis 1962, les vêtements Eider allient passion pour les sports de montagne, savoir-faire textile historique, recherche permanente d’innovation dans un style unique et contemporain.
Héritage de notre fondateur, tailleur de métier, c’est toujours à Annecy, dans notre propre atelier, que toutes nos collections sont aujourd’hui encore imaginées, dessinées, « patronnées » et élaborées.
Ce choix affirmé d’une maîtrise totale de la chaîne de recherche et développement, accompagné d’un échange permanent avec nos athlètes, nos conseillers techniques, nos clients et nos fournisseurs, nous permet, années après années, d’innover sans cesse.

Eider sitzt im Herzen der Französischen Alpen. Seit 1962 vereint das französische Unternehmen in seinen Kollektionen Innovation, Know-How und die Leidenschaft für den Bergsport.
Von der Idee über den Schnitt bis hin zum fertigen Kleidungsstück: Ganz im Sinne des Firmengründers, einem Schneider, entstehen nach wie vor alle Kollektionen im eigenen Atelier in Annecy.
Eider kümmert sich dabei um alles selbst – von der Forschung und Entwicklung bis hin zur Herstellung und dem Vertrieb. Das Unternehmen übernimmt alle Produktionsschritte und ist in ständigem Kontakt mit technischen Beratern, Sportlern, Lieferanten und Kunden.
Das größte Anliegen von Eider ist es, Outdoor und Bergsportbegeisterten, besonders Skifahrern, eine einzigartige, funktionelle und vielseitige Kleidung zu bieten, die auch den höchsten Ansprüchen gerecht wird.

Unlike regular, predictable sports, Mountain Sports are a reflection of the diverse opportunities that the natural terrain provides.
The EIDER collection reflects this reality. It offers a range of technical products dedicated to the «traditional» practices like – alpine climbing, trekking and hiking, - and also a range of more versatile products to wear in the mountains that look at home in the urban environment. There is something to suit all Outdoor enthusiasts.

DAS GEBIRGEIm Gegensatz zu anderen sportlichen Aktivitäten, ist der Bergsport sehr vielseitig und bietet unzählige Varianten für unterschiedliche Bedürfnisse und Vorlieben.
Genau diese Vielfalt reflektiert die EIDER Kollektion: neben einer breiten Palette funktioneller Produkte für solch klassische Bereiche wie den Alpinismus, Trekking oder Hiking bietet Eider auch besonders vielseitige Produkte, die am Berg ebenso wie in der Stadt überzeugen können – eben für echte Outdoorsport-Kenner und Bergsport Fans!
MONTAGNE(S)A la différence de bon nombre de pratiques sportives plus figées, plus codifiées, les Sports de montagne sont le reflet de la multiplicité des opportunités que le terrain de jeu nous procure.
La gamme EIDER s’inscrit dans cette réalité et propose une gamme de produits techniques dédiée aux pratiques « traditionnelles », alpinisme, trekking, hiking,…etc, mais aussi une gamme plus polyvalente de produits « multisports », à porter en montagne comme à la ville, destinée à tous les pratiquants de sports outdoor et à tous ceux que la montagne inspire.

PASSFORM HAT PRIORITÄTEin technisches Kleidungsstück ist nur dann effektiv, wenn es in der Praxis zu bestehen weiß. Dies ist ein grundlegendes Thema, welches in unserer Branche nicht immer ausreichend berücksichtigt wird.
So hat der Skifahrer andere Bedürfnisse als der Bergsteiger und Wandern erfordert nicht die gleiche Bewegungsfreiheit wie Eisklettern. Ob man nun läuft, für Stunden Rad fährt oder 10 Tage lang wandert, es gibt so viele Wege Bergsport zu betreiben, aber auch ebenso viele Anforderungen die an die Bekleidung gestellt werden.

A technical garment is effective only if it is ideally suited for practice. This is a basic topic in our industry, that is not sufficiently considered.
The skier has different needs than the mountaineer. Ice climbing does not require the same freedom of movement that the practice of hiking. Running, biking for a few hours, or walk for 10 days, so many ways to practice mountain sports, but so different expectations in terme of fit.
Athletic, Alpine, Regular or Relax, for an EIDER garment there are a pattern and a fit for each use.
UNE PRIORITÉ, LE FITUn vêtement technique n’est efficace que si sa coupe est parfaitement adaptée à la pratique. C’est un basique de notre industrie trop souvent négligé.
Le skieur n’a pas les mêmes besoins que l’alpiniste. La cascade de glace n’exige pas la même liberté de mouvement que la pratique de la randonnée. Courir, faire du vélo pendant quelques heures, ou marcher pendant 10 jours, autant de façons de pratiquer les sports de montagne, mais des attentes si différentes en matière de fit.

EIDER, LE SPÉCIALISTE DE LA RESPIRABILITÉAprès des années à courir après les matières les plus étanches, les plus chaudes, les plus élastiques, il était grand temps de penser aussi à la respirabilité de nos vêtements.
Comme le Fit, la respirabilité a un impact direct sur le confort et la performance de nos produits.
Pour offrir à nos clients ce qui se fait de mieux, Eider travaille depuis maintenant 3 saisons avec les meilleures matières disponibles : Polartec® NeoShell, Gore-Tex® Active Shell et Defender® Cocona®.
Aucune concession à l’étanchéité, mais des progrès considérables en matière de gestion de l’évacuation de la transpiration.
EIDER, DER SPEZIALIST FÜR ATMUNGSAKTIVITÄTNachdem man jahrelang vor allem auf der Suche nach besonders wasserdichten, wärmenden und extrem elastischen Materialien war, ist es nun Zeit auch an die Atmungsaktivität der Kleidung zu denken.
So wie der Schnitt, hat auch die Atmungsaktivität einen direkten Einfluss auf Komfort und Leistung unserer Produkte.
Um unseren Kunden nur das Beste zu bieten, arbeitet Eider mit den besten Materialien, darunter Polartec® NeoShell, Gore-Tex® Active Shell und Defender® Cocona®.
Das bedeutet: Keine Abstriche in punkto Wasserfestigkeit, aber einen enormen Fortschritt beim Feuchtigkeitstransfer.
After years of striving for the most waterproof, warmest, or most stretchy materials, it is time to also think about the breathability of our Outdoor clothing.
As with the fit, breathability has a big and direct impact on the comfort and performance of our products.
To provide the best for our customers, Eider has been working for three seasons with the best materials available: Polartec® NeoShell, Gore-Tex® Active Shell and Defender® Cocona®.
With no concession to waterproofness, we have made considerable progress in improving moisture management and transfer.

SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENTTo continue to assume more and more our environmental and social responsibility, Eider has chosen to introduce in his spring / summer 2013 collection a new line of cotton T-Shirts labellized GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard).
The GOTS certification is a globally recognized certification of textile products which ensures that all all stages of production and processing of textile production processes used to be socially responsible and environmentally friendly.
Of raw fiber, which must be certified to come from organic farming, through the transformation process and finished product must comply strictly with all a series of environmental and social criteria.
This mode of production promotes the use of natural dyes, and imposes strict requirements on environmental releases and chemical residues harmful content in the finished product.
DÉVELOPPEMENT DURABLEPour continuer d’assumer de mieux en mieux notre responsabilité environnementale et sociale, Eider a choisi d’introduire dans sa collection printemps/été 2013 une nouvelle gamme de T-Shirts en coton certifiés GOTS : (www.global-standard.org).
La certification GOTS est un système mondialement reconnu de certification des produits textiles qui permet de garantir qu’ à toutes toutes les étapes de production et de transformation du textile les procédés de production utilisés soient socialement responsables et respectueux de l’environnement.
De la fibre brute, qui doit être certifiée provenir de l’agriculture biologique, en passant par le processus de transformation et de fabrication du produit fini qui doit respecter scrupuleusement toutes une série de critères environnementaux et sociaux.
Ce mode de production favorise ainsi l’emploi de teintures naturelles, et impose des exigences sévères concernant les rejets dans l’environnement et les résidus chimiques nocifs contenus dans le produit fini.
NACHHALTIGE ENTWICKLUNGUm auch in Zukunft mehr ökologische und soziale Verantwortung zu übernehmen, präsentiert EIDER in seiner Frühjahr / Sommer 2013 Kollektion eine neue Linie von Baumwoll-T-shirts, die mit dem Gütezeichen GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) versehen sind.
Die GOTS-Zertifizierung ist eine weltweit anerkannte Kennzeichnung von Textilwaren, die bezeugt, dass alle Stufen der Erzeugung und Verarbeitung von Textilien sozial verantwortlich und umweltfreundlich sind.
Von den Rohfasern, die nachweislich aus ökologischem Anbau stammen müssen, über die Verarbeitung, bis hin zum fertigen Produkt muss sich die Produktion strikt an eine Reihe von ökologischen und sozialen Vorgaben halten.
Diese Form der Produktion fördert die Verwendung von natürlichen Farbstoffen und schreibt strenge Richtlinien hinsichtlich des Ausstoßes in die Umwelt vor. Darüber hinaus gelangen so keine chemischen Rückstände schädlicher Inhalte in das fertige Produkt.
