SCHOOL COUNCIL ACCOUNTABILITY & SCOPE CONTINUED . . .

According to Article IV of the Etowah School Council bylaws (see below), members must be in attendance for at least five meetings.

“After two absences by a certified staff member of the school council, that member will be contacted by the principal to ascertain his/her level of commitment going forward. After two absences by a parent, student, or business partner representative of the school council, that member will be contacted by the chair of the council to ascertain their level of commitment going forward. While the nature of the absences will be considered in determining a member’s ability and commitment to ongoing council participation, meeting attendance is imperative to the work of the council. If any member of the council accumulates three absences in a single school-year, that member will be removed from the roster. The principal will appoint a replacement for a certified staff member and student member. A parent representative will be replaced with the parent who received the highest number of votes during that year’s election, but who was not elected to the council. Business partner representatives will be replaced by a business partner appointed by the principal and the council chair.” Etowah School Council Bylaws, Article IV, School Council Membership, School Council Bylaws Defining Active Status

Members are expected to promote a spirit of cooperation and support between the Etowah Administration, student body and all other stakeholders.

Thank you for your interest and your willingness to serve Etowah High School!
