AVA & ANNE EDRC'S "ASK THE EXPERTS" PRESENTS CLICK HERE TO REGISTER! Ava is a 16 year old Junior in Belmont, CA. Over the past 6 months Ava has become an advocate for ED recovery becoming a volunteer at EDRC and a Project Heal Ambassador. Together, Ava and her mom, Anne, will be talking about their experience dealing with eating disorders as a victim and as a loved one. “I was diagnosed with an eating disorder in 8th grade and I have been in active recovery for over 3 years. Over the course of my recovery I have learned so much and have developed a strong understanding for this illness. The past year I have developed a strong desire to share this understanding and educate others on this illness that is often glorified and stigmatized especially in high school. Without treatment I don’t think I would’ve recovered or even be here today. I want to share my story, spread my knowledge, and advocate for others to prevent EDs and get those who are struggling the help they need. Recovery is tricky and is different for everyone but I’d like to share my personal experiences with topics such as exercise in recovery, body image, intuitive eating, and weight.” - Ava (zoom link will be emailed to you after you register for the meeting)
