¡Jesús, en Ti Confío!

¡Aleluya! ¡Cristo ha resucitado! ¡Felices Pascuas Floridas! La suma importancia del Do-mingo de Pascua anima a la santa Iglesia de cele-brarla litúrgicamente por ocho días (“Octava Pas-

cual”), concluyendo hoy con el Domingo de la Divina Misericor-dia. Esta fiesta da eco a la revelación privada y aprobada de Sta. María Faustina Kowalska en Polonia del siglo XX. De esta revelación han surgido la Novena y la Coronilla de la Divina Misericordia, la segunda que es pilar de nuestra Hora Santa do-minical. De corazón, les invito a la Hora Santa de hoy a las 14,45h en el templo.

Muchas gracias al coro de la Misa dominical de las 11h por la alta calidad musical (en tres idiomas) durante la Misa de Vigilia Pascual. Su progreso de un año a otro ha sido formidable. Hemos ampliado la renovación de prácticas tradicionales (cubrir más imágenes y crucifijos en la V Semana de Cuares-ma y Semana Santa, el lavatorio de los pies de hombres repre-sentando los Apóstoles en Jueves Santo según las normas liturgicas, colocar un verdadero crucifijo encima del sagrario, etc.). Que chévere llenar las calles de nuestro vecindario con centenares de feligreses en nuestro Viacrucis de Viernes Santo, rezando y cantando en español, inglés y latín, brindando un testimonio unido en medio de nuestra diversidad. Otra muestra de diversidad con unidad ocurrió en la adoración compartida entre hispanohablante y anglohablante la noche de Jueves Santo). Felicitaciones a los cuatro recipientes de varios sa-cramentos en la Vigilia Pascual (vb. Melanie Ureña, Bautismo, Kevin Salvador y Ever Segovia, Primera Comunión y Maritza “Teresa de Calcuta” Amaro, Primera Comunión ¡y mi primerìsima Confirmación de sacerdote!).

Recordamos a nuestros feligreses y lectores que el Deber Pascual obliga a todo católico que haya hecho su Primera Comunión a comulgarse por lo menos cada año. En los EE.UU., hay que cumplir con este deber al màs tardar el Domingo de la Santísima Trinidad, cuya fecha en el 2014 es el 31 de mayo. Si haya faltado confesarse durante Cuaresma o Semana Santa, favor de aprovecharse de este sacramento cuanto antes para poder recibir el Cuerpo y la Sangre, el Alma y la Divinidad de Nuestro Señor en estado de gracia, para su beneficio de cuerpo y alma, cumpliendo con un deber nuestro con Dios y su Iglesia.

Alleluia! Christ is risen! Happy Easter! Easter Sunday is so important that the Church celebrates this event liturgically as an

Octave (eight-day period), concluding today, which is Divine Mercy Sunday. Divine Mercy Sunday, formerly known as the Second Sunday of Easter, recalls the approved private reve-lation made to St. Maria Faustina Kowalska in Poland in the 20th century. This revelation has produced devotions such as the Novena and Chaplet of Divine Mercy, of which the latter is a staple of our Holy Hour on Sundays. We invite you most cordially and heartily to our Holy Hour today at 2:45 p.m. in the church.

Many thanks to all from the 9 a.m. Mass commu-nity who supported our more inclusive program for Holy Week! In addition to more images and crucifixes being covered for Passiontide and Holy Week for the second consecutive year (thank you, Legionaries of Mary), it was wonderful to see 9 a.m. Mass-goers represented in the washing of feet and the post-Mass adoration at Holy Thursday (thanks to St. Jerome Society and Pro-Life Committee), a fully bilingual Good Fri-day, and a fully bilingual musical program (with more Latin too) at the Easter Vigil Mass (compliments to the choir and its progress compared to last year). Thanks for your compli-ments on the restoration of a real crucifix atop the taberna-cle in the sanctuary! While we aim to improve certain as-pects, let us look back at Holy Week 2015 as further inte-grating our two Mass communities, which we hope will point to greater cooperation, solidarity, and growth for our parish! Congratulations to the four parishioners who made sacra-ments at the Easter Vigil (e.g. Melanie Ureña, Baptism, Kevin Salvador and Ever Segovia, First Holy Communion, and Maritza “Teresa of Calcutta” Amaro, First Holy Communion and my first-ever Confirmation as a priest!).

Please be reminded that the Easter duty binds all Catholics who have made their First Holy Communion to re-ceive Holy Communion at least once a year. In the United States, we should meet our Easter duty no later than Trinity Sunday, which this year falls on May 31. If you have failed to go to Confession this yeart, then please avail yourself of the Sacrament of Penance a.s.a.p. so that you may receive Our Lord’s Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity in a state of grace, to your benefit in body and soul, and to fulfill one of our duties to God and His Church.
