Designed to explore the remote corners of the world in elegance and style, the ms Rotterdam earns its place at Holland America Line. Onboard the Rotterdam are her multi-million dollar art and antique collection, wide teak decks and classic lines. The ship boasts nautical tradition while presenting multiple and luxurious amenities. At 61,000 tons, the ms Rotterdam carries a maximum of 1,404 passengers in spacious comfort. Five distinctly different dining venues are available: the classic but elegant Dining Room, the casual Lido Market, and the upscale Canaletto Restaurant and the Pinnacle Grill (supplemental fee). Eight different lounges are also available, providing delightful spaces to relax, to have a quiet drink, or to be entertained by music or a lively show. The Explorations Café, offers an extensive library, internet café and coffee bar, as well as the beautiful new Culinary Arts Centre, which provides cooking classes and presentations. Other venues include a full-size theatre offering first-run movies, a casino, a card room, and the superb Greenhouse Spa and fitness centre. Luxurious accommodations await us - staterooms feature two lower beds (most of which can convert to a king-size bed), plush pillow-top mattresses, fine Egyptian cottons, terry-cloth robes, a private bathroom, individually-controlled air conditioning, a telephone, and ample closet space. Each stateroom also has a flat screen television, a DVD player, and multi-channel music. Most outside staterooms feature picture-window viewing and a bathtub with shower. The Deluxe staterooms and suites feature a private balcony, a personal mini-bar, a separate sitting area with floor to ceiling windows, and much more.

Rotterdam, Netherlands: The Netherlands’ second-largest city and Europe’s busiest port is home to some of the 20th and 21st centuries most important architectural feats, which is particularly impressive when you consider that nearly all of Rotterdam was razed to the ground during World War II. Sometimes referred to as “Manhattan-on-the-Maas,” the city lives up to its reputation as a forward-looking metropolis with fascinating design and some of the Netherlands' finest museums and most trendy shops.

Copenhagen, Denmark: Built on a series of islands, Copenhagen balances tradition and kinetic energy, while all the while the Little Mermaid statue keeps a thoughtful watch on the harbour. Perhaps take in the Royal Ballet or see the Crown Jewels protected by the Royal Guard at Rosenborg Castle. Warnemünde (Berlin), Germany: Berlin is an intriguing, vibrant city. While devastated by bombings in World War II, its museums are still filled with cultural treasures. Thoughtful memorials and museums acknowledged the darker moments of its history, though it is the city’s restaurants, bars, boutiques and galleries that tend to impress most visitors. Berlin enthusiastically embraces its artists and entrepreneurs, creating an exciting atmosphere of possibility. Tallinn, Estonia: The beautifully preserved old town is a thicket of turrets, spires, and onion domes that overlooks the rest of Tallinn and the Gulf of Finland. Legend says the limestone outcrop is the burial mound of the Estonian King Kalev, while geology claims the area first emerged from the surrounding land about 10,000 years ago. St. Petersburg, Russia: The city is a treasure chest of glittering domes, baroque palaces, and elaborate churches. The Hermitage alone could overwhelm you. One of the world’s great museums, it houses works by Titian, Dutch and Flemish masters, Michelangelo and Matisse, and the Peacock Clock. Ensconced in Catherine the Great’s Winter Palace, the museum is as evocative as its collection.

Helsinki, Finland: From its inauspicious origins in the mid-16th century, Helsinki has come into its own with genius and bold humanity, winning kudos for having the world's best quality of life. Strewn across numerous islands
