Dear St. William the Abbot Families,

What a beautiful Thanksgiving Liturgy this morning, and what a great message from Fr. Joe to our students, urging them to always be “the one” who thanks the Lord, just as the one leper did in today’s Gospel. We are blessed to have Fr. Joe as our Pastor! Thank you to all who joined us at Mass, especially our Pre-Kindergarten parents and students. It was so nice to see so many of you, and we are thankful for your presence at Mass. Your presence supports and strengthens the family atmosphere fostered here at SWS. Very special thanks to Mrs. Schuler, Ms. Suppe, Mrs. Batsford, and all our third graders for the wonderful job in preparing our Liturgy!

I would like to welcome our newest faculty member, Mr. Don Dunckley, who will take the reins on Monday in Phys Ed. We thank Mr. Dalton for his time here at SWS, and we look forward to giving Mr. Dunckley a warm SWS welcome!

Please remember to schedule a Report Card conference with your child’s teacher. Conferences are coming up on December 5th and December 6th. We look forward to seeing you!

On this Thanksgiving Eve, please indulge me as I use this “bully pulpit” to give thanks for all those who work tirelessly to make SWS the best it can be, day in and day out. Thank you to Fr. Joe, Fr. James, and Fr. Collins for the energy they bring to our school. They are shining examples of faith for our students. Thank you to the members of the School Board, the HSA, the Father’s Club, Middle School Sports, and all our volunteers. Your contributions are valued and appreciated! Thank you to Ms. Bendish for all she does to keep me in line, and especially for her scheduling prowess. There is no one better, and I am sure I am making her uncomfortable mentioning her myriad contributions in my letter, but I would be remiss if I did not recognize and thank her for all she does for our school! Thanks, as well, to Mrs. Ryan for keeping us up and running. Mrs. Ryan is our technology wizard, and we would be lost without her! Thank you to the amazing faculty and support staff of SWS. Again, there is none better. I am so humbled to lead this phenomenal group of people. I have said it before, but it bears repeating that I must have done something right in my life to have found my way to St. William’s! Lastly, and certainly not least, I give thanks for the beautiful children who pass through our doors every day. They are the reason for all that we do! Thank you for entrusting them to our care! A happy and blessed Thanksgiving to all!

Calling all moms, dads and grandparents to help bake for our fair!! Baked goods can be sent to school with your child or dropped off on Friday, Dec. 6th until 6:30 pm or Saturday, Dec. 7th and Sunday, Dec. 8th after 9:00 am. Below are some suggested items to bake. You may bake what has

been assigned for your child’s grade level or feel free to bake your own specialties as well as ANY of the suggestions listed.

PLEASE LABEL WHAT THE BAKED GOODS ARE, ESPECIALLY IF CONTAINING NUTS!

Please no packaged grocery store items. Please ensure all baked items are cooled before wrapping. Label any platters or dishes you want returned with your child’s name/grade.
