ABOUT THE KEYNOTE SPEAKER Eunice Gonzalez is a middle-school teacher in Santa Maria, CA. Born to immigrant parents who earned their living picking strawberries, Eunice earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Chicana/o Studies at UCLA. Following her work with the Early Academic Outreach Program (EAOP), Eunice decided she could make a positive impact in her community by becoming a teacher. She went on to earn her Masters of Art in Teaching from Brown University, where she gave a commencement speech paying homage to the resiliency of students with undocumented families. During her spare time, Eunice enjoys playing tennis, writing poetry, and finding diverse books for her students. SOBRE LA ORADORA PRINCIPALEunice González es maestra de secundaria en Santa Maria, California. Nacida de padres inmigrantes que se ganaban la vida recogiendo fresas, Eunice obtuvo su licenciatura en Estudios Chicana/o en UCLA. Después de su trabajo con Early Academic Outreach Program (EAOP), Eunice decidió que podría tener un impacto positivo en su comunidad al convertirse en maestra. Luego obtuvo su Maestría para

ser Maestra en la Universidad de Brown, donde el día de su graduación dio un discurso en homenaje a la resiliencia de los estudiantes con familias indocumentadas. Durante su tiempo libre, Eunice disfruta jugar al tenis, escribir poesía y encontrar diversos libros para sus alumnos.
