On July 12th and 13th, The 46th Annual Corn Hill Arts Festival presented by ESL Federal Credit Union will celebrate the arts and the culture of this historic city neighborhood. Admission is free, so bring the whole family!

Volunteers from the Corn Hill Neighbors Association work year-round to prepare for the Festival, which annually draws over 175,000 visitors.

More than 400 juried artists from across the US and Canada come to display and sell their artwork. Unique, handcrafted arts & crafts fill the streets for visitors to enjoy. You can find that special gift or the perfect piece of art for your home, office or garden at Corn Hill.

Do you have an eye for up-and-coming artists? Then don’t miss the 6th Annual Emerging Artists Expo presented by MVP Health Care. The Expo features 25 talented, young artists from area high schools and colleges. Our 2013 Emerging Artist award winner, Kat Patterson has designed this year’s commemorative poster!

Music lovers enjoy a weekend of free entertainment that fills the Festival with music from four stages showcasing 27 live performances of both local and national music talent.  This year’s “don’t miss” performances at The Delta Airlines Food Court Stage are international Zydeco superstar, C.J. Chenier and The Red Hot Louisiana Band and C’est Bon Cajun Dance Band. Check out our entire music lineup online.

Visitors will also enjoy music and summer ales at The Labatt Blue Light Gazebo Stage. Wines from Fox Run Vineyards will be available along with tastings from a variety

of regional wineries. Visit the Avery Mall Stage for a chance to relax with friends and enjoy our newest beer & wine garden.

Got kids? Bring them along because Corn Hill is a family friendly event! Our Community Area will once again host the Fairy Houses Tour. Be inspired by the creativity of 75 locally designed, extraordinary Fairy Houses on display. Then, take advantage of MVP’s activity area, Festival Bounce Houses, or Rochester Lancer’s soccer fun. We’ll also be featuring chalk art and an opportunity for families to create their own masterpieces.

“In its 46th year, The Corn Hill Arts Festival continues to honor the cultural significance art has in our lives,” said Jeff Holdsworth, volunteer Chairperson. “We are grateful for the support that ESL Federal Credit Union has brought to this year’s event along with all of our sponsors and the entire Rochester community.”

Funds raised during the festival will be used by the Corn Hill Neighbors Association to support ongoing community services.

2014 CORN HILL ARTS FESTIVAL POSTERThe 46th Annual Corn Hill Arts Festival Commemorative Poster explodes with color in its depiction of Corn Hill, the Genesee River, and the Rochester city skyline.

Kat Patterson, the 2013 Emerging Artists Expo 1st place prizewinner was chosen to create this year’s collectible poster. Kat is a 2012 graduate of SUNY New Paltz with a degree in Technical Theater and Printmaking. She brings a warmth and joyfulness to her art. In addition to printmaking, Kat utilizes her considerable artistic talent in theatrical costume design. “We liked Kat’s vision of the Corn Hill Neighborhood. Her poster design reminds us of our beginnings as a grassroots Festival and the connection to our city,” said Jeff Holdsworth, 2014 Festival Chairperson.

“I was inspired by Buddhist mandalas and wanted to incorporate the unique architecture of the Corn Hill neighborhood with bright colors and patterns into the poster,“ said Kat.

Patterson’s artwork and signing will be available on collectible merchandise celebrating the 46th Annual Corn Hill Arts Festival. The Merchandise Booth is located at the Frederick Douglass and Adams Street intersection.

Now in its 6th year, the Emerging Artist Expo gives young artists the opportunity to display and sell their artwork for the first-time at a juried show. 25 up-and-coming artists participate in the event, and many past emerging artists have gone on to become successful members of the art community. This year’s Festival poster artist, Kat Patterson was the 2013 top award winner!

MVP Health Care plans to engage visitors at the Festival with the City of Rochester’s Recreation on the Move van, where kids will enjoy supervised play with hula-hoops, jump ropes, and fun activities.

“MVP Health Care is proud to support this year’s Emerging Artist Expo,” says David Crosby, Executive VP Commercial Business at MVP Health Care. “At MVP Health Care our vision is to create the healthiest communities in the US.  There are many aspects beyond physical wellbeing that contribute to achieving that vision.A healthy community is diverse, dynamic, and respectful of the contributions and accomplishments of all its constituents. The Corn Hill Arts Festival showcases the accomplishments of our Rochester youth and fosters their well-being by encouraging their positive energy and creativity.”

The Emerging Artists Expo is located off Adams St. adjacent to the Delta Air Lines Main Stage and Food Court.
