Conflicts Management

Introduction :

Conflicts cannot be avoided in human life. This fact cannot be

avoided that we cannot come across conflicts in our day to day life. Its

unavoidable. Conflicts can occur between man and environment, man or man

or any other. Instead of getting frightened and running away from conflicts we

should try to face them and find solution or solve them.

What is Conflict :

Conflict is a clash (fight) between need of two persons at the

same point on a same issue. Suppose one person wants to go left on a road

while the other wants to go right at the same time, this results in conflicts.

Conflicts of motives (goal) and beliefs usually occur more.

A] Cause of Conflicts :

Opposing interest ( one person is interested in drinking

coffee while other wants to drink tea at same time)

Different methods of achieving the same goal ( one wants

to eat with hand while other with fork and knife, though finally food goes in

mouth)

Clash between goals and values (One wants to achieve

success through cheating while other does not want to do the same)

B] Feelings :

Frustration, Tension, Stress, Hostility (very unfriendly),

Anxiety (state of worry and nervousness).

C] Thoughts :

Awareness of conflicts( we realize what we have done),

Perception (become aware through senses what we have done),

Lack of awareness (we don’t know what is going on around us during stress).

D] Behaviour attached with conflicts :

Resistance (pratikar karayla shikto apan), Withdrawal ( apan baher

padayl baghto saglya wadatun padki baju gheun), aggression.

Types of Conflicts

Inter Personal :

A conflict which occurs between two persons (pinkoo and mau) or

two group of persons (Congress and BJP).

( Inter – mhanje aatla and Person- mhanje lok..so inter person)

Inner Personal :

Its between a person’s thoughts, ideas, emotions, feelings

opposing each other.

( jasa ki pinkoo la mala khayla dyaycha nahi pan ek man mhanta khayla dete)

(Inner- mhanje swata madhla and person- tu…so inner personal )

Intra Personal :

It is a clash between a person and their environment in which he

lives( that can be people around him or employees or other persons )

Is intra personal.

Nature of Conflicts

A] Functional Or Constructive Conflicts :

It means after functional conflicts the output of it is constructive

which means good decisions can be taken to solve a problem.

(Mean fighting on issue of how to solve a electricity problem in India, we can

come up with new ideas, that is constructive )

1. It gives warning instruction for unsolved problems.

2. It act as safety valve releasing tension and anger in individual rather

than allowing tension to build up and rather expressing in hard way.

(mhanje tula kasa swata madhe raag rahila manat ki doka dukhta n

tu raag dusrikade kadhtes bhayankar pane…tasach)

3. It encourages interaction between two groups and increases

creativity ( if we are discussing a problem of how to make money

from business… each one can give his unique idea through his

creativity and talent and you come to know your partner better)

4. It helps to solve the problem fast.

5. Promote sharing of information ( means you can tell me how sarvesh

is and I can tell you what I know about him and we can help sneha

to get rid of him )

B] Dysfunctional or Destructive Conflicts :

They can have negative conflicts and so known and destructive

(opp. To constructive )

They can have effects like,

1. It leads to maladaptive ( means habit one should not get )

psychological behaviour like anger, hostility (unfriendly),

alienation and weakened relationships. ( means just like you…

tula kasa waad ghatlas ki raag yeto, konashi bolavasa watat

nahi (hostility) ani to sid sobat friendship todtes..tasa..)

Page 4: Conflicts managmnent notes

2. Gives rise to mistrust and suspicion. A loser feels defeated and

demeaned. ( mhanje tuzhi khoti shapat ghetli ki kasa watta

tula, u don’t trust him and next time jevha to shpt gheil u

suspect him )

3. Antagonism (act in opposition or provoke hostility ) makes

you psychologically down and thus the growth of the

organisation fails to improve.

Reasons for Occurrence of Conflicts

A] Competition for scares Resources :

When resources are limited and claims are many there arise

conflicts. We observe it in our day to day life. We can see people fight for

money, land, water, etc.

( atta ek glass pani urla asel fakta gharat n tula n dadala hava te

maag je waad hoil tyala boltat COMPETITION FO SCARCE

RESOURCES…resource here is glass of water )

B] Different Set of Values :

Values may be defined as conviction ( to convict – means to do or

serve something) a specific mode of conduct or socially preferable to an

opposite or converse mode. Means people with moral do not compromise to

achieve what they want. Consider anna hazare, he want corruption free india

and he is not going to compromise in any means to achieve his goals.

Page 5: Conflicts managmnent notes

C] Contrasting Perceptions :

Perception – become aware of something via senses.

Perception is a process through which people interact their

sensory impressions in order to give meaning to their environment. Peoples

behaviour is based on their senses and how they react using their senses of

what reality is and what is fake.

When ones perception does not match other people’s perception

conflicts start.

D] Personality Clashes :

It can be defined as sum total in which an individual reacts and

interacts with others. Hereditary, environment and situations major

determinants of personality ( mhanje tuzha swabhav or personality mhanu

apan tuzya wagnyawarun decide karnar… suppose tuzya gharatle sagle ragit

ahet kiva ek kotari mhanun tu ragit zhalis, kiva tu environment means

bakicha lokansobat kashi wagtes hyawarun tuzha swabhav tharnar, jar tu

saglyansobat waad ghatlas tar bhandkhor mhannar tula te environment

tharavta and situation means kasli situation ali n tyat tu ragane sagla handle

keals tari tula bhandkhor bolnar.

So over all tuzha swabhav tuzha hereditary, environment and situation

handling warun tharto )

So a person A with other personality than person B come together conflicts

occur.

E] Faulty Communication :

Communication is transfer of ideas, information and data

from the sender to receiver with info understood by the receiver.

Communication process is complete only when the data is understood by the

receiver. Faulty communications caused by unclarified assumptions, poorely

expressed messages, poor listening and premature evaluation, information

overload and distortion result in conflicts.

( this is easy..bagh what is communication-

Atta me sagla tula explain keal pan tula kalla sagla me samjavlela

tar tyala boltat communication. Jar tuzya Dochkyat kay ghuslach nahi ani

paltya ghadawar pani zhala tar tyala apan effective communication nahi bolu

shakat.

So suppose tu call kelas ani tyacha phone busy ala, tu kay

assume karnar ki to boltoy konasobat..maag to assume karnar ki konasobat

bolat asel…n maag tu waad ghalnar( this is unclarified assumptions) mhanje

tu swatahun assume kartes konta base na pakadta..

Jar samaj tu aikla nahis konti goshta tar tu vegla artha ghenar n

maag bhandan honar(poor listening)

And samaj me tula khup shikavla ani tuzha chotusha dochka

overload zhala maag tula kahich kalnar nahi (information overload)

)
