Conewago Township Elementary and New Oxford Elementary Continuity of Education Plan for Parents Phase II - April & May 2020 CVSD Mission Conewago Valley School District promotes individual and collaborative excellence enabling students to become competent, conident, and creative builders of the future. Topic Details Information Sharing Dr. Rudisill will continue communicating regarding the district as a whole, focused on global information that affects everyone in the district. Building administration will continue to reach out with details that are building specific. This document will continue to be a method we use to update everyone with our plans. Please be sure to save this document! Teachers will communicate with families via SeeSaw, email, or other tools they use for their respective classrooms. Teachers have been asked to plan on more of a weekly basis to allow students to reduce anxiety, employ flexibility in regard to engaging in learning and allow all to plan over a reasonable amount of time. Families should continue to check their SeeSaw and email daily to maintain communication. Twitter, Facebook, and Skylert will continue to be used as vehicles for communication. Building Access Campus is still closed. Please do not try to access the building or grounds. If you feel it is necessary, please reach out to building principals via email or phone. Learning Plan CTE and NOE Priorities Students may have both online and offline learning activities. The primary tools for communication between teachers and families will be Seesaw, ZOOM, and parent provided email addresses. Teachers may provide synchronous and asynchronous learning. Learning plans will be assigned on a weekly basis.     Some Examples:  - Reading aloud and independent reading  - Board games and challenges with math/strategy/critical  

    thinking  - Puzzles  - Designing and building structures with blocks or other  

    available materials  - Online independent practice  

    Total Distance Learning Time Not to Exceed: approximately 1.5 hours per day  

     

    Assessments  

    ● All tasks, assignments, and assessments will be formative and designated as “Meeting Grade Level  Standards” (Proficient) or “Progressing Towards Grade Level Standards” (Basic).  

    ● All tasks, assignments, and assessments WILL NOT be graded during this time.  ● All data gained from tasks, assignments, and assessments will be used formatively to gauge student  

    learning and understanding in order to provide differentiated support to students.  ● At least one ELA and one Math lesson per week.  

    OUR PRIMARY FOCUS IS STUDENT LEARNING - NOT GRADES!  

    Students  with IEPs  and GIEPs  

    ● Case managers will be reaching out to schedule IEP/GIEP meetings, if needed. To this point, no  exemptions have been issued in regard to normal IEP timelines and expectations.  

    ● Special Education and Gifted teachers will be reaching out to their students to provide enrichment,  remediation and/or instruction as needed.  

    Attendance  ● Communication between students/parents and teachers.  ● Online learning tools also record attendance. Teachers have access to the specifics of progress and  

    frequency.    

    Office  Hours  

    ● Teachers have the following office hours from 8:00 to 8:30 am.  ○ Monday- Kindergarten  ○ Tuesday- First Grade  ○ Wednesday- Second Grade  ○ Thursday- Third Grade  ○ Friday- Integrated Arts and Specialists  

    ● Office hours can be conducted through Zoom, Gmail, Seesaw, etc.  ● Teachers may schedule additional office hours throughout the day outside of their set office hours.
