This was possible because of your willingness to donate to this fund that in turn helped Trinity parents with the tuition. The scholarship helped families with things ranging from registration fees to low income tuition assistance to a first year stu- dent incentive (first year at FLS). We gave out about $9,000 in assistance to twelve different Trini- ty families covering seventeen Trinity children. This year we are asking for your help again in giving to the Trinity Scholarship Fund. We estimate we will need about $8,000 total to cover our church families for the 2017-2018 school year which in- cludes four new Trinity children planning to join FLS for the first time. Without this assistance to our people, several Trinity kids may not be able to afford to go to FLS. We all know how important a Christ-based educa- tion is to all children. Please help as you can to make sure as many Trinity kids as possible receive this ‘best education available.’ Please send your check to Trinity Lutheran Church and write Trinity Scholarship Fund on the memo line. Dear members of Trinity Lutheran Church,

It’s hard to believe that Elena was born over 8 months ago already! The weeks after her premature birth were full of worry and uncertainty, but God has blessed us beyond what we could ever hope for after we learned that Elena was going to be born 4 months early. Throughout our stay in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, God placed people in our lives to watch over us (especially Elena) and speak words of Truth and Hope. We are so appreciative for all the people who have supported us during this long journey. We are especially grateful for the Trinity Lutheran congregation – for keeping our family in your prayers, for your cards and letters of encouragement, and for raising support at the Lenten Wednesday supper. We created a Caring Bridge website to share stories and pictures of Elena’s progress: www.caringbridge.org/visit/elenaselle. We post new updates every two weeks or so, along with new pictures and prayer requests. Thank you again for being a blessing to us! Love, Eric, Haidee, and Elena Selle

Special thanks to Norene Hanson, who has faith-fully served as a Worship Assistant for many years. Norene will be stepping down, and we are looking for replacement Worship Assistant(s). Please contact a Worship Assistant or the Church Office if you would like to volunteer.

Stewardship Every Sunday: Acts 2:43-47 As the media—news magazines, newspapers, televi-sion, radio, internet—bombard us with what they describe as our NEEDS, we find it difficult to do without what are really our GREEDS. Cars, toys, computers, brand name clothing, snacks, drinks, ap-pliances, psychic readings. How far we have come since the apostles first spread the Word of the risen Christ. We have so many distractions. Can you im-agine selling all of your possessions, giving them away to anyone who really needs them, focusing on sharing the Gospel message of forgiveness with un-believers, joyfully observing the growing number of believers? And the miracles, the healings! Occasion-ally we do hear of a family that leaves a hectic and affluent life and decides to simplify. They may relin-quish most of their possessions, relocate, change jobs, adopt a simpler lifestyle, relinquish credit cards—and otherwise take risks that most would not dare to attempt. What would need to happen in your life for you to consider such changes?

This SUNDAY at 5:00 p.m. FAMILY POTLUCK

in the Fellowship Hall Dear Parents; We are having a special fellowship event to

bring together FAMILIES with youth in grades 6-12. We will begin with a potluck, have some fun, and then share ideas for the future of the group. BRING a dish to pass, your own place-settings and beverages. (Coffee will be served.) Feel free to invite non-member families.

FOR RENT: Small, newer two bedroom upstairs apartment available for rent beginning May 1. Location is across the street from Trinity. Please contact Amy Keilen at 507-779-2770 if interested.

Attention Pie Makers: We will start the pie project Monday, May 1 at 8:00 a.m.

TRINITY RADIO CLUB: Adopt-A-Highway

“Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad; let the sea resound, and all that is in it. Let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them; let all the trees

and the forest sing for joy.” ~Psalm 96:11-12, NIV

On May 6 the Radio Club Adopt-a-Highway will do its 2017 Spring I-35 cleanup. Everyone age 17 and up is invited. Meet in the church west parking lot at 7:00 a.m.! Safety vests are provided. Bring gloves and hats. The pick up gleans eleven 40-gallon trash bags of car parts, cans, bottles, etc. Please join us—with you, we could get twelve! Who will win the traveling trophy for the Most Unusual Item Found? JoAnn Flicek is the current owner for finding a stuffed Kermit the Frog doll that had become un-stuffed last fall.
