that our kiddos earned by reading Bible verses.

What You Only Thought You Knew- Experiencing the Foundations of
Faith is the theme of our Wed. eve. Summer Series. During this
time, all teen through adult classes will meet in the auditorium
for an in-depth study of experiencing faith. The schedule for the
next 3 weeks is as follows:
July 16 - Ron Laughery - Forgiveness

July 30 - Brett Hower - God’s Love
LIFE LINE SCREENING
The Belpre Church of Christ is pleased to offer a preventive health
event. Life Line Screening, a leading provider of community-based
preventive health screenings, will host their affordable, non-invasive
and painless health screenings on Mon., July 21, 2014 from 8:30
a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Five screenings will be offered that scan for
potential health problems. Grab a pink flyer on the foyer tables for
the types of screenings and cost. All five screenings take 60-90
minutes to complete. In order to register for this event and to
receive a $10 discount off any package priced above $129, please
call 1-888-653-6441 or visit www.lifelinescreening.com/community-

FAMILY LIFE WEEK
Save the date and plan to be with us on August 3-6 for our annual
Family Life Week. This year, we will welcome Carlus Gupton from
Memphis, Tennessee. At the same time, our children will enjoy VBS.
We look forward to a wonderful time together, seeing Christ more
clearly and deepening our relationship to Him. More details to
follow.
OVU NOTES
The Student Life Department at Ohio Valley University is seeking
sponsorship for a disc golf course on the OVU campus. The plan is
to install an 18 hole disc golf course by August this year. The course
will provide a fun, wholesome activity for our students as well as the
local community and will also utilize our gorgeous campus to show
off the natural beauty of the Mid-Ohio Valley. This course will be
open to the public and free. The course is being funded by
donations from individuals, businesses and groups on and off
campus. Each hole can be sponsored for $500. This will include
the basket, the tee pad and the 10" x 15" tee sign that will display
the donators logo and/or name if desired. We anticipate that this
course will be enjoyed by many people of all ages for many years,
and the tee sign will be a permanent fixture on display for all who
visit the course!
Before very long, the hustle and bustle of a new academic year at
Ohio Valley University will begin! The population of the Mid-Ohio
Valley will increase by several hundred energetic, optimistic young
people. We would like for you to come and meet these promising
students! Please plan to join us Monday, August 25 from 7–9 p.m.
at our OVU Expo. This is a time designed for students (especially
new students) to meet their community!
If you have good or services that you are interested in offering the
students, please e-mail [email protected] to reserve a table.
Tables are limited, and are “first come first serve”…so get yours re-
served today!!
MINISTRIES
COURAGE TO CHANGE The up-coming guest speakers for the Courage to Change
meetings on the third Thursday of the month at 7:00 July
through September are as follows: July 17, 2014 Angela
Shamblin, a Hypnotist , who will be speaking about her ex-
perience working with over-eaters, smokers and clients with
other addictions. August 21, David Schaffer MSW, LICSW,
AADC, PLLC, a Psychotherapist, Addictions Counseling Licensed
Clinical Social Worker in West Virginia and Ohio will be speaking
about our values and how they dictate our behavior and choices.
On September 17, Dina Andrews will be speaking on the Circles
program in West Virginia and Ohio, which helps people recover
from addictions and poverty and trains them to have a more
productive life. We would encourage you to support these
speakers from our area as they partner with the Courage to
Change ministry at Belpre by sharing with us the common goal
and dedication to improving the lives of people in our
community.
LOVE IN ACTION Our benevolence funds go for many different things. Some of
these are BAM, Disaster Relief, Women's Care Center,
prescriptions when needed, rent, clothes, utility bills, groceries,
and any assistance with resources that aid in a better life for
some. We also recently bought 100 Spanish bibles for a
Honduras mission trip. A special thanks goes out to Sara Barton
who spoke to the HOPE group last week and to Kay Grose who
will be speaking this week. It is always good when we can apply
Biblical stories to today's problems. LIA and the HOPE group
strive to introduce God to others. As Ron shared in his sermon,
we want all to know they are "included." It is our prayer that all
will know it does not matter where they came from. It is all
about where they are headed today. Please continue to pray
with us that lives will be changed.

an 18 mo. old child and another baby on the way.
THANK YOU
Thank you, everyone, for your cards and phone calls during my recent

The young man said to him, “All these I have kept. What do I still lack?” Jesus said to him, “If you would be perfect, go, sell what you
possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.”
When the young man heard this he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.
