2. Entry into licensed premises or the consumption of alcoholicdrink is strictly forbidden during the course.

3. Smoking is forbidden on the course.4. Students must not absent themselves from the guesthouses

after 10.00 p.m. and remain there until after breakfast. 5. Swimming/fishing is only allowed under the supervision of a

member of college staff.6. A student may not leave the college during the course without

permission of the Príomhoide.7. As with normal school discipline policies, misbehaviour, verbal

or physical intimidation, intentional or otherwise will be dealtwith accordingly by the college authorities.

8. The Coláiste does not accept responsibility for lost/stolen ordamaged property during the course. Students must make goodany damage to property in guest-house or college before coursecompletion.

COLLEGEColáiste Cholumba has been running Irishcourses in the Gaeltacht for almost thirtyyears. Our experience and expertise haveenabled us to provide an excellent service toall our students, ensuring that they returnhome with a greatly enhanced appreciationand grasp of the language and our culture.We use the communicative approach and availof all modern teaching aids as well as dramaand other techniques to ensure that eachstudent has the greatest opportunity toimprove his/her Irish.

COURSESOur courses are graded to suit studentsranging from Bunchúrsa to pre Leaving Cert.In this we cater for primary students, pre-junior and pre-leaving giving special tuitionon oral examinations. Assessment interviewsare conducted on course commencement.

GUEST HOUSEAll guest houses are approved by theDepartment of the Gaeltacht. N.B. Every effortis made to accommodate friends together inGuest-Houses, when requested with theapplication form. The college reserves theright of final placement of students. Studentswill be notified of Guest-House allocationapprox. 2 weeks prior to coursecommencement.
