Indian Society for Training and Development (ISTD Dehradun Chapter) in association with COER School of Management organized a National Conference on “The Changing Scenario of Indian Business: Skills, Performance & Challenges” during February 5- 6, 2016. This Conference pro-vided a platform to the Intellectuals, Academi-cians, Practitioners to share their ideas, experi-ence and knowledge about the latest develop-ments in the field of Training and Development, Human Resource Management and General Man-agement. The two days conference was inaugu-rated on Feb 05, 2016.The Chief guest of the Inau-gural Session was Dr. Vinayshil Gautam Senior Ad-visor KPMG in India ,Shri Yogesh Upadhyay, Na-tional President, ISTD, New Delhi and Sh.J.C.Jain, CMD, Texplas Group of Industries, Haridwar were the Guest of Honor of the session. Shri S.K. Biswas, Director (P) THDC ,Dr. A.C.Joshi Director (HR) UJVNL, Dr. Santosh Rangnekar, Head DOMS,IITR, Sri Rajesh Kumar, Registrar COER,Major General A.K. Chaturvedi AVSM, VSM, Director General COER and Dr V.K. Jain, Director, COER SM were also present on the Dias. The curtain raiser speech of the Conference was delivered by Dr. V K Jain, Director COER SM and Chairman Conference. The welcome speech of the Inaugural session was delivered by Shri S.K. Biswas, Director (P) THDC. Shri S.K. Biswas, Direc-
tor (P) THDC in his address emphasized on the im-portance of the skill development. Chief Guest Dr. Vinayshil Gautam Senior Advisor KPMG in India rightly pointed out that even in recession in the world; India is making an exemplary progress in re-spect of development. He wished that such Confer-ences will also be organized in future too. After the inaugural various brain storming sessions were con-ducted including parallel sessions of research paper presentation. The first ended with rocking perform-ance of the students in cultural night wchich was a real stress buster and energy booster for all the ex-perts, delegates and students. The ending of Confer-ence is marked by the Valedictory Session. The Chief Guest for the Valedictory session was Mr. S. N. Verma, MD, UJVNL, Dehradun, Guest of Honor Prof.R. J. Lalwani, VC, ICFAI University, Dehradun. The special guest for this session were Shri Yogesh Upadhyay, National President, ISTD, New Delhi , Dr. S.P. Verma Executive Director, ISTD New Delhi, Dr. A.C.Joshi Director (HR) UJVNL, Ms. Aneeta Chau-han ,Chairperson,ISTD Kota Chapter,Major General A.K. Chaturvedi AVSM, VSM, Director General COER and Dr V.K. Jain, Director, COER SM. Dr. V. K. Jain propsed the vote of thanks ,he thanked to all the sponsors ONGC, COER, THDC, REC, PTCUL, SJVNL, UJVNL, NHPC, HAL, NTPC,NALCO, Comfort Manage-ment. A total of 330 registered delegates attended the Conference.

An Industrial Visit to Everest India Ltd, Bhag-
wanpur was organized for MBA I Year students
on 11th March, 2016. A group of around 50 Stu-
dents visited the Organization and understood
various processes of Project Management. Mr.
Sudhir Gaur and Ms. Kanika Sharma coordinated
the visit.

A External FDP was held at COER, School of Management, Roorkee on March
28, 2016, by Prof P.K. Chande, Ex Professor at Indian Institute of Man-
agement Indore, Director Maulana Azad National Institute of Technol-
ogy, Bhopal. The topic discussed by him was on the theme “Holistic Ap-
proach needed for advancement in teaching career”. He emphasized on
the value and ethics needed for the Academic growth of the faculty mem-
bers. His program got overwhelming response from the staff members .
