While this will be a fantasc opportunity for members of our community to be aware of school events and these technologies can be great for sharing ideas and keeping in touch, don’t forget that comments about your school community can have greater impact than expected and can have very real consequences for the reputaons of individuals including teachers, principals, other parents, students and yourself. As a parent and carer, you are your child’s first role model when it comes to online behaviour. Make sure your online conduct demonstrates how they can use social media respecully and safely. Unfortunately, due to a soſtware error, parents and carers of some students would have been unable to make an online booking with Ms Maxine Davis. This has been corrected and bookings can connue to be made through the online booking system at: hps://sobs.com.au/pt/parent.php?schoolid=1500. Suggeson Box In order that we can give everyone in our community a voice as to how we can improve our school we have placed a suggeson box at the front counter of the office. Let us know if you have a brilliant idea, we would love to hear it. We have included all members of the community; staff, students, parents and community members so that everyone feels that they have had the opportunity to have a say. This way we can be as good as it is possible to be.

PURPOSE Our purpose is to implement a relevant, innovative and dynamic curriculum through an integrated approach to quality teaching, curriculum planning and delivery, and assessment that meets the diverse learning needs of students, promotes ex-cellence and creates active and informed citizens.

Welcome to Week 8 of Term 2! Times have changed. A few years ago, the only way a school could distribute information, publicise events or promote the school was via the school newsletter or in the local paper. Parents discussed concerns or issues with friends at the school gate. Today, with the internet, mobile phones and social media, interactions between the school and its commu-nity can reach a far wider audience than ever before. Social media can provide an enjoyable way to socialise online and keep you connected with what is going on in your school community. With this in mind: WE ARE SETTING UP A SCHOOL FACEBOOK PAGE! While this will be a fantastic opportunity for members of our community to be aware of school events and these technologies can be great for sharing ideas and keeping in touch, don’t forget that comments about your school community can have greater impact than expected and can have very real consequences for the reputations of individuals including teachers, principals, other parents, students and yourself. As a parent and carer, you are your child’s first role model when it comes to online behaviour. Make sure your online conduct demonstrates how they can use social media respectfully and safely. Years 7-12 Parent Teacher Interviews In last week’s newsletter information was published on this week’s Secondary Parent Teacher Interviews on Thursday, 20 June 2019 in the School Library from 4.00 to 6.30 pm. Unfortunately, due to a software error, parents and carers of some students would have been unable to make an online booking with Ms Maxine Davis. Healthy School Canteen Strategy Our school is working hard to comply with the Healthy School Canteen Strategy guidelines and we are heading very successfully towards the end of 2019 deadline, with the school and P & C working together to develop a healthy menu. The P & C employs Mrs Alison DeMamiel to run the canteen and staff it so that our students have access to a canteen for both lunch and recess five days a week. Students at our school do not have to rely on the unpredictability of volunteers and we try our best to provide a good service. Please assist us and the P & C by supporting our canteen whenever possible. We aim for the canteen to be self-sufficient. Finally…. This week I will be attending training along with four of our executive team in Narrandera and a Principal’s meeting on Friday. Our door is and always has been open – whether you are happy, sad or mad. We need to know if we are not doing something right, but I also need to know that you trust our motives and intentions. Everything we do, every single day is for YOUR children. Until next week,

Timothy Allen Principal

Primary Regional Cross Country

By Chloe DeMamiel

On Thursday 13th June 2019 Chloe DeMamiel, Alex Pound and

Damon Pound participated in the Riverina Cross Country along

with 400 other people.

They all ran very well with Alex coming 18th and Damon coming

23rd in the 10 years boys event. I came 14th in my event. It was

a very enjoyable and muddy day.

I would like to thank the parents for taking us to Gundagai.

Have a lovely and safe week.
