Year 7-10 Examinations Year 7 – 10 Examinations will be held in Week 5 of Term 4 in the School Hall. This will be the last week of the 2019 scholastic year for Year 7-10 students before they roll over in Week 6 of this term to the 2020 scholastic school year as part of the compressed curriculum pattern of study. Selective schools A final reminder that applications for placement in Year 7 in selective high schools close on 11 November 2019. Detailed instructions on how to apply online are available at https://education.nsw.gov.au/public-schools/selective-high-schools-and-opportunity-classes/year-7. Closing dates for applications will be strictly observed and there can be no exemptions made on compassionate grounds. Applications must be completed by parents and submitted online. Signing In and Out A reminder to all parents, carers and friends, it is a department requirement that anyone entering our school grounds during school time MUST sign in and out at the front office. This is also a WHS issue in case of emergency; the school must know who is on the premises at any given time. Parents are also reminded that if a child is late to school they must also be signed in at the front office. Finally…. I am attending a meeting of the NSWPPA Rural Education Standing Committee and State Conference in Sydney this week. Please contact Deputy Principal Mrs Kerrie-Lea Jay or other members of the school executive if you have any urgent matters. Our door is and always has been open – whether you are happy, sad or mad. We need to know if we are not doing something right, but I also need to know that you trust our motives and intentions. Everything we do, every single day is for YOUR children. Until next week

Dubbo Excursion By Louise Rose

On Wednesday, the 23 of October, 28 students set off to go to Dubbo.

First we went to the Motor Museum and saw many old cars, trucks and

motorbikes. After that we went to a giant space dish and watched a movie

in a building next to it. Then after a few hours of waiting we finally got to the Old Dubbo Gaol where we

got to see how people in prison lived in the past. Then lastly we made it to Dubbo Zoo where we had a

night tour, saw some animals and had delicious food. In the morning we had a morning tour then left to

go home, but along the way Miss Montgomerie surprised us with soft serve ice cream. Then at last we

were at school where the parents were waiting to give their kids a hug. I just can’t wait until the next

excursion.:);)

Dubbo Excursion On Wednesday morning we set off on our long journey to Dubbo.

First we set up our tents then the tour guide told us the rules of the camp. Before dinner we saw the dingos. After that we went and saw the Australian Animals at Night, it was so cool. Then we went to bed at 9:50pm. In the morning we packed up and had breakfast and had a tour of some types of monkeys. After that we had a self tour of the rest of the zoo and had lunch and went on the bus for the long drive home.

Then we arrived home on Thursday night. It was the best excursion ever.

Dubbo Zoo Excursion On the way we stopped at Forbes Motor Museum and saw lots of old cars and motorbikes. Next we stopped at Parkes to see the big dish and learnt a lot of stuff about stars and bigger suns than the one we have. Then we arrived at Old Dubbo Gaol and learnt a lot of different ways to punish the bad people. Our favourite punishment was the dark cell, it was pitch black. Then we got to the zoo and had a look at the dingoes, then had dinner. For dinner we had sausages and salad. After dinner we had a night tour and then Year 3 and 4 played hide and seek and chases. In the morning we had breakfast then had a tour before we went on our own self tour and saw lots of animals like hippos, elephants, rhinos, Siamang apes, Galapagos Tortoises, cheetahs, tigers, meerkats, giraffes and zebras.
