The microwave technique brings high measuring accuracy and reproducibility, independent of grade and wood species. This is the solution for achieving accurate and fast freeness measurement. The DRT-5200 is prerequisite for stable re ner control. Place it close to the paper machine or after the re ners, and it will deliver data very fast. The total cycle time is less than 2 minutes. A Kappa Number Analyzer for automatic online measurement of lignin content and mean ber length. PCD-03 (pH)Particle Charge Detector

The Mtek PCD-03 Particle Charge Detector measures the colloidally dissolved substances in an aqueous sample. In the paper industry, it is a standard tool for detecting anionic trash levels but also for characterizing chemical additives. The PCD is the most widespread streaming current detector worldwide which is also due to its capability of charge measurements at high conductivity.

For more scienti c purposes the PCD-03 pH is recommended. It is additionally equipped with a pH probe for determinations of the isoelectric point IEP as well as for pH-charge pro les.

Identi cation of charge levels is not only very important for the paper industry, but also for numerous alternative applications like wastewater treatment, the food and beverage industry, ceramics, colors and pharmaceuticals.

SZP-06System Zeta Potential

The Mtek SZP-06 System Zeta Potential identi es the surface charges of bers and llers. Measuring samples before and after chemical contact, it evaluates the performance of e.g. starches or wet strength agents in the papermaking process. PCD-T3Titrator Three

The Mtek PCD-T3 Titrator Three has been specially developed for charge titrations and isoelectric point (IEP) detections in combination with the Mtek PCD-03 or Mtek PCD-03 pH.

Sophisticated titration control allows xed increment, dynamic or semi-dynamic titrations with the highest accuracy. This automatic titrator can be operated via the titrator keypad or from a computer applying the PCD LabX software that comes with the device.

PCT-20Charge Analyzer

The Mtek PCT-20 Charge Analyzer monitors/controls the charge of colloi-dally dissolved material (anionic trash) in paper machine circuits. It enables trash collectors and xing agents to be added as required. Thus, the paper machine circuit is kept at balanced charge levels.

The system bene ts are: reduced deposits and improved chemical perfor-mance (retention aids, wet and dry strength agents, dyes, etc.).

TSS-70Filtration Sampler

The Mtek Filtration Sampler may be employed at any desired location in the paper machine circuit. It takes samples of high-consistency and low-consistency stocks (up to 8% consistency). After ltering, the low-maintenance unit conveys the treated samples to a PCT-20 for charge analysis of colloidally dissolved material (anionic trash).

The TSS-70 can be equipped with an optional turbidity sensor, thus becoming the TIF (Turbidity in Filtrate) which detects uncharged particles. It provides a ltrate of reproducible quality.

The Mtek RET-20 Retention Analyzer measures ash and total consistency precisely using modern optical measurement technology. The RET-20 Retention Analyzer is a must whenever maximum accuracy is required.

Some processes only provide unpressurized and flocculated stock samples, which is true for white water installations in conventional headboxes. For these applications too, the RET-20 Retention Analyzer is the right choice, because of the optimum sample treatment.

An alternative to fast-wearing traditional steel and plastic printing blades: the high-performance Duroblade printing blade for exo applications. Beyond long blade lifetimes, it offers numerous bene ts such as increased blade chamber seal lifetimes, better sealing of the doctor chamber, cleaner production with less waste, no run-in time, constant printing quality during blade life, improved wiping of the anilox cylinder and reduced scoring lines. An ideal solution for fast machines running long jobs or using abrasive ink.
