Dear Friends and Parishioners of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish:

We are so excited to continue opening our doors! Our re-opening leadership team and volunteers have been working diligently to al-low all of this to continue. Below you will find information about the next coming weeks. A reminder to all that the entire Diocese re-mains dispensed from the Sunday and Holy Day Mass obligation until further notice. The Mass schedule, is as follows: Saturdays (Sunday Vigil Mass)- 5:30pm Sundays- 8:15am, 10:00am, 12:00pm Weekdays - 9:00am All who are younger than 60 and healthy with no underlying health conditions, high school students, college students, as well as young adults are encouraged to serve and volunteer for teams. If you are part of the “vulnerable population” with an underlying medical condition such as diabetes, lung disease, undergoing cancer treatment, etc., we ask that your support our efforts with prayer. We will be using a scheduling tool to “reserve” a Mass time for you and your family for the Saturday Vigil Mass and Sunday Masses. If you are not able to reserve for Mass via the internet, you may call the parish office at (630) 852-3303 or email Mary Prebys at [email protected]

Food Pantry Update The food pantry volunteers of Our Lady of Mt Carmel want to thank all the parishioners for your amazing support during this pandemic. Your food, restaurant gi cards and monetary dona ons have fed many families over the last three months. With the restric ons placed upon us by the pandemic, we had to alter our normal opera-

ons so we could do “touchless” delivery of the groceries. We also opened the pantry to anyone in need instead of just those in our normal service area. We are only open two

mes a week instead of four, but we see almost 50 families a week. As you may no ce when you grocery shop, some items are hard to come by. Shopping in the quan es the food pantry needs has become increasingly difficult. No longer can we run into Aldi and buy say 10 cases of grape jelly. Our needs are s ll great, even with the wonderful items we receive from the Northern Illinois Food Bank. For your informa on, we do not allow the clients to shop or to give us a shopping list. Instead, they get a set variety of items. We vary that with fresh and frozen items from the food bank. At this me our needs are as follows: Canned soup, canned ravioli or other dinners, jelly, canned vegetables, maca-roni and cheese, paper goods: mainly toilet paper, Kleenex and paper towels. Other items that we like to stock are bar hand soap, cleaning supplies, cookies, rice and boxed potatoes, toothpaste and femine products. Dona ons may be dropped off when the church is open, there is a blue bin in the ves bule for the food pantry. Cli-ents may pick up food on Tuesdays from 1 to 3pm and Fridays from 1 to 3pm. Please send any ques ons to [email protected] . Thank you again for all your support! Fred Majchrowicz, Chairman Liz Eberhart, Volunteer

How do you rely on Jesus during times of trouble? When has Jesus helped you?
