Fred and I and all the re-less food pantry workers want to thank the parish-ioners of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel for their support of our ministry. The need for the food pantry has grown as the pandemic con nues into its sixth month. We wouldn’t be able to feed all the families who rely on the food pantry without your generosity! On the weekend of September 19 and 20 we will be holding a paper goods and cleaning supply drive. These are the items we are in need of: toilet paper, paper towels, Kleenex and household cleaning supplies like windex, bleach, toilet bowl cleaner and Lysol. The blue bin for dona ons is in the ves bule. We will also have shopping carts out for the dona ons. We have one big request. When bringing dona ons to the pantry, PLEASE do not leave perishable food in the blue bin. If you wish to donate perishable items, please do so when we are open on Tuesday and Friday be-tween 1 and 3 PM. Thank you and God Bless you all! RE News…

Register now for RE classes! Classes begin October 17.

(online and in person) See our Website for details.

We Need You!

While we are postponing the start of RE (October 17th), we are still looking for Cate-chists and Hallway monitors for the upcoming RE year. Yes, we will have some kind of gath-ered RE, but will also offer remote learning as well as our Family Faith Session that meets once a month. We need many hands to pro-vide a safe environment for all our families. Since we have to limit the number of people in the building, we will also have to signifi-cantly reduce the number of students attend-ing RE during the Mass time. If you choose a time with Mass (grades preschool-second) you must attend Mass and follow the registration process for that Mass each week. Please con-tact the RE office for more info But again, we will need lots of help! You can get started by going to www.virtus.org and register for an online session of PGC.

www.FORMED.org Try this Pick of the Week: Padre Pio Between Heaven and Earth-Sign up as a parish member and use the parish code 8bd394 This is particularly good for Adults. https://watch.formed.org/padre-pio-between-heaven-and-earth

Family Service Opportunities: We need food for the Food Pantry, consid-er donating some Peanut butter and Jelly, or canned meats. They always need paper products!

Questions of the Week Question for Children: How do you experi-ence God being generous to you: through your family, friends, school, or parish? Question for Youth: This Gospel reminds us that God is always seeking us out and wel-coming us into his generous love. Through whom has God reached out to you? Who is always encouraging you to say "yes" to God? Question for Adults: Using Jesus' parable as your starting point, describe in your own words how God will treat those who come to be part of the church, even those who come late.

Activity: Sometimes people become jealous of the gifts of others. Talk about ways of handling feelings of jealousy. Have an open discus-sion about fairness in the family. Plan a fam-ily outing and spend the time enjoying one another’s company.

What is 40 Days for Life? 40 Days for Life Prayer Vigil is a wonderful ‘ life saving’ opportunity to join with our community and hundreds of other cities around the world in prayer, fasting and keeping a peaceful vigil in front of a place where children are aborted. Through God, and your prayers and fasting, 40 Days for Life has saved more than 17,000 lives from abortion. It has led to the conversion of clinic workers and has seen many abortion facilities close completely. “We often forget the incredible power of prayer and loving witness, but 40 Days for Life reminds us of the fruits of dialogue with the Lord.”

How Can I Help? Please sign up to pray for an hour at Access Clinic in Downers Grove, (1700 75th St.). Visit www.40daysforlife.com/downersgrove and click on “Vigil Schedule”. 40 Days Vigil runs Sept.23rd –Nov.1st . 7am-7pm Reserve your spot today! Private prayer and fasting are also ways in which you can be a part of 40 days for Life. Thank you for choosing to protect the most vulnerable of God’s creation! Questions???
