● Healthcare is important, without it, we will not be able

to treat and diagnose illnesses.

● Healthcare is a basic necessity for EVERYONE.

● Everyone is entitled with the rights to access basic

healthcare.

World Health Day

● The World Health Day is a global health awareness day celebrated every year on 7 April, under the sponsorship of the World Health Organization.

● Marks WHO's founding, and is seen as an opportunity by the organization to draw worldwide attention to a subject of major importance to global health each year.

Background Information:● WHO began when the Constitution came into force on 7

April 1948.● They currently have more than 7000 people working in

150 country offices, in 6 regional offices at the headquarters in Geneva.

What they do:● Their primary role is to direct and coordinate

international health within the United Nations’ system.

Main Areas of work:● Health systems, Promoting health through the life-

course, corporate services as well as non-communicable and communicable diseases.

The Didier Drogba Foundation

● He is an Ivorian Professional Football player, who is best known for his career at Chelsea Football Club.

● He has also been named African Footballer of the Year twice, in 2006 and 2009.

● He has earned worldwide acclaim as a professional soccer player and champion for peace in his native Ivory Coast.

Who is Didier Drogba?

Background Information:● Created in 2007, the Didier Drogba Foundation aims to provide financial and material support in both health and education to the African people.

Motivations:● Most African children are still left out and almost

forgotten on the road to progress, especially when we talk about health and education.

● Didier wanted to change things for the better, thus he set up the foundation to develop more and more structures, to give people basic healthcare and education.

What they do:● Provided help and funds for structures such as the Red

Cross in Abidjan.

Aims & Goals:● They aim to build a hospital in Abidjan, a project that is

fully supported by the foundation.

The Didier Drogba Foundation Charity Ball:● Held on November 21 in London.

● Its main goal was to raise funds in order to build a hospital in Abidjan.

● Raised approximately 500 000 pounds to build the hospital in Abidjan.

Target audience:● The organization is targeted at people who wants to

give back to society, and do their part to solve the issue of poor healthcare in africa.

● The organization also hopes to reach out to the people to kindly donate and to give help in order to change things for the better.
