LunchOpen for lunch Monday through to Saturday Barista is a good place to go for lunch from the office.

BuffetAvailable for functions. Menus available at the bar, or contact Dawn.

New YearNew Years Barista is open for an all inclusive tickets only Broadway feel evening. Tickets are £50 and include food.

WineSometimes you want to try a decent bottle of wine, but only want a glass each, but the bottle doesn’t come by the glass, so you go without. At Barista, they will happily hold onto your bottle for 7 days so you can come back and enjoy the rest.

Friday & Saturday NightsBarista boasts a disco which plays music designed for people over 21 to know what and who they are listening to, without the typical cheesiness!

Theatre & DinnerBarista offers a food deal for the theatre goers.

Barista has been open for nearly two years, serving drinks within a civilised environment oozing with style and character. Owned by Steve Seager and Bal Birt, Barista is the latest in a collection of venues recently acquired that also includes Bar 7 and the long established Bassment. Inside, the staff are genuinely nice, make eye contact and ensure that the atmosphere is authentically warm and comfortable for everyone. Dawn maintains a very good selection of wines from all over the world, as well as some of the finest aperitifs and beers available. With a wine menu that changes regularly, we were able to sample a selection of wines coming soon as well as some sherry, port and proscecco. Very nice indeed!

Barista has joined forces with the highly acclaimed talents of Stuart Hammond, who runs Olivers Catering in Chelmsford, to expand the business and begin serving food at lunchtime and in the evenings. With a commitment to using only the freshest ingredients available, Barista has created a menu that is well presented and offers a good selection that all sounds tempting without being too vast or over the top. Stuart compliments the very reasonably priced menu with Daily Specials, so there really is plenty to choose from.

We started with a sharing platter which could easily be enjoyed on its own with a glass of wine at the bar, when you fancy something good to eat, but not necessarily a full meal. The platter itself was a mixture of several of the starters including the filo prawns and the chicken and bacon terrine, which were both very good! This was followed by Chicken Chasseur, which was one of the Daily Specials, and the Oriental Beef with Vegetables. Both were excellent as we were both slightly reluctant to share, having both been very pleased with our choices. We followed the main courses with a shared cheese board and a few more glasses of wine as recommended by Dawn.

Having never been to Barista, we can genuinely say that we will definitely be going back! The food, the drinks, the staff, and the atmosphere was all very good! Even the other customers seemed pleasant and pleased that the West End finally has a classy place where you can enjoy a drink or two with friends after work or as part of a night out!
