There is a burgeoning design sensibility taking hold on the Baja Peninsula. It’s a mix of traditional and modern. European sophistication and Mexican tradition. Some call it “Mex-Med”. We call it Baja Sur!

But whatever you call it, a fresh approach to the Mexican vernacular taking cues from the Mediterranean Sea cultures of the Greek Islands, Sardinia, Crete, and Ibiza is emerging. It draws on the historical traditions of hand made materials, artisanal craft and local sources.

These cultures and destinations have gained in popularity as many Americans crave the experience of a simpler, healthier, more “authentic” lifestyle. This pamphlet illustrates rooms, outdoor spaces, culinary style, and architectural feel from contemporary mediterranean seaside resorts and homes. Simple materials, natural palettes, emphasis on indoor-outdoor living in the temperate climate.

Baja California Sur is the perfect place for a melding of European sophistication and Mexican materials and craft.
