A specific, distinctive vehicle attribute branding is

essential to make cars unique and competitive.

As a first step on the way, vehicle manufacturers have

to benchmark their vehicles in the competitive

environment in order to understand and to strengthen

or improve the potential of their vehicles.

AVL newly offers a comprehensive vehicle

benchmarking analysis of the most important, recently

released passenger cars. The objective assessment

delivers an overview of results for ten main attributes in

a competitive scatterbands of >150 vehicles:• Performance

• Drivability

• Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)

• Sound / NVH

• RDE: CO2 / Real life fuel consumption

• Pollutant emissions

• Friction

• Thermal, energy management

• Vehicle dynamics, handling

• Ride Comfort

AVL program for vehicle testing & benchmarking in a competitive landscape of 150 newly released vehicles worldwide

Goals

Definition of development targets for new models

Information about best in class behavior

Basis for model revisions

Deliverables:

Measurement data and report, highlighting the strengths

and weaknesses within the competitor scatter bands

Customer benefits:

• Fast and cost efficient due to pre-defined processes

• Objective comparison based on the largest vehicle

data base industry-wide (> 150 vehicles)

• Competent analysis and objective target definition

and target tracking based on proven tools (AVL-

DRIVE, VSM) in combination with AVL’s engineering

expertise

• Easy working through implementation of the project

results in the customer development process

• Highest quality and integrated competence of an

engineering partner experienced in powertrain and

vehicle as well
